How the Republican Plan to Trap Trump Has Backfired
The Fiscal Times ^ | 14 March 2016 | Rob Garver

Cruz, speaking to reporters on Monday, reiterated that he would support Trump in the general election, though he qualified it by saying, “I can give you one example where I would no longer support Donald Trump. If for example, he were to go out on 5th Avenue and shoot somebody, I would not be willing to support Donald Trump.”

For those that claim "Cruz or Lose". Did you know he has pledged to support whoever is left standing in the General election?

Did it? I held my nose and voted for both McCain and Romney. I’m guessing most people here did, as well.

Trump was joking. But seriously, I don’t see him harming a kitten.

Trump is many things, but he’s no Howard Dean.

They’ve called on Trump to dial back his language and said that his call for supporters to pledge allegiance to him with a gesture reminiscent of the Nazi salute is “troubling.”

Complete rot. First he had them raise their hand to swear. When the new president raises his had to be sworn in do they say it's "reminiscent of the Nazi salute"? And second, he didn't have them swear "allegiance". He had them swear they would vote. Not vote for Trump, just vote.

“Gee thanks hoss”

I voted - for Cruz. But, I’m ok with Trump as well. I just want the likes of McConnell and other so called establishment players to disappear. Sick of them.

How the Republican Plan to Trap Trump Has Backfired.

To begin with, what happened in Chicago wasn’t a “Republican Plan”. It was planned though.

The plan was hatched in Sea Island Georgia. Anti-Trump power structure in attendance, as well as representatives of Hillary camp.

Trillions at stake here. Trump must not be allowed to assume Presidency.

Chicago. Rahm Emmanuel. Hillary. Obama. Soros and others with no names but lots to lose. Fox News, CNN, Move-on.org. BLM, tools to be used.

No Hillary signs at rally. Only Bernie. Violence instigated. Bernie supporters blamed. Trump urging supporters to defend themselves morphed into narrative of incitement, by the three amigos in planned post-rally commentary.

Hillary gets to say the same about Bernie.

Bernie becomes the patsy.

If there’s violence against Trump, then Bernie camp gets blamed. Easy to sweep under rug by President Hillary. Fox News continues narrative against Trump, CNN continues narrative against Bernie. Trump can now be eliminated with meme in place.

Plan did not fail.

Don't worry. He'll do it on Times Square instead.

Just for the record, if Ted Cruz was to shoot somebody randomly in the streets of Texas, I would not vote for him either. Not that I believe Cruz would actually do that but I felt it was important to get that out there - just in case he did.

Exactly my point - those who refuse to vote "the lesser of two evils" end up rolling out the red carpet for the greatest possible evil.

I’ll believe it when I see it! He is all in for the GOPe brokered convention.

If he reneges for that, it will make it much easier for Hillary to win - lots of folks getting a little leery of the sort of things he tries to leverage these days.

Yes. And he will stick to that pledge as he is a man of honor.

I'll vote for whichever one is left standing - Cruz has pissed me off a number of times lately but either one would be better than letting Hillary finish Obama's job.

Trump was joking. But seriously, I don’t see him harming a kitten.

Trump is many things, but he’s no Howard Dean.

Most of us understand that and it's distressing to see Cruz try to leverage it. There are so many out there that add meaning to trump's words where the meaning has no logical foundation and then they will take a lack of words on something as something else sinister - many have ost their friggin' minds over this one.

I started Cruz/Trump and a month ago I switched to Trump/Cruz. I realize they both have faults but I also realize that either one is so much preferable to the options that it would be insanity to withhold my vote because "that other SOB knocked my guy out"...
