Fortunately, I use Adblock Plus, not Adblock, so no worries here. With that and Ghostery installed I rarely have to see any unwanted adverts. :)

It’s worth noting, this is NOT the same as AdBlock Plus. ABP is run by Wladimir Palant and is a non-profit. This only affects Chrome users, really. If you’re using Firefox and not using ABP, you should start using it now.

I have recommended adblock a number of times but noticed when the last update which happened last week that I was seeing ads. And now I know why.

Not only that, but it has thrown me off of FR several times when enabled. Anyone else?

Actually, no, they are not the same or from the same people. Check the references above.

Note this article is dated October, 2015.

Would be handy if OP added “from Oct,2015” to title.

Easy to assume this just happened.

As I mentioned earlier, although the article is from 2015, the change on adblock seems to have occurred with last update.

Hmmnn, AdBlock has become ransom ware to the advertisers. How clever.

To: Chickensoup; All
AdBlock and Adblock Plus are two different products produced by two different companies.

As it says on the AdBlock web site (bolding mine):

I wonder how that will work out. I have my doubts on it as a business model.
