“Ted Cruz is not, I repeat NOT, a constitutional conservative. Only low info voters think he is a constitutional conservative simply because that is what he calls himself. High info voters have looked at his record and decided he is a GOPe uniparty globalist hack.”

I’m fairly resigned to voting for Trump in November. That said, Cruz is clearly a constitutional conservative, much more so than is Trump. I just hope Trump will follow through and do most of what he says - assuming he has some sort of plan to actually accomplish those things...

Even better is this video in 2012 where Trump comes out for amnesty for all the “good ones.” Pretty clear it’s the same thing he wants now, except they’ll probably have to visit their embassy and set foot inside to get their legal papers.

No, Teddy PRETENDSto be what he isn't; just like Obama.

He Only "knows" the Constitution when it suits him. And he's all talk; no show. Or as they say in Texas...ALL HAT AND NO CATTLE; little Mister VERY INSIDER GOPEer.

The fact is that people believe that Donald trump, irrespective of all else, including his past, will actually do the things he says.

Which is silly. Trump is a professional salesman and dealmaker who brags about how he basically screws over people on deals, including using bankruptcy to screw the creditors. Trump has said more and more with each passing day that he is going to change who he is and what his positions are after winning the primary and after being elected, and that he was just saying what he needed to at any given time to win people over, not because he meant it.

It's said to see people who believe in the conservative movement being suckered in by a very disingenuous, self-serving, conniving character like Trump.

I largely agree with you and is why I hardly visit FR anymore, when it used to be my first stop every morning.

I wish you well, as I won’t be back here to read the responses. I find this all so very disheartening. :^(

I am a supporter of Ted Cruz and have given him hundreds of dollars in the last 11 months.

But I am willing to support Trump if he wins the process.

I have little faith in the politicians who I think are more concerned with doing what the big money elites want them to do than in practicing conservative principles in office.

Anyone the GOPe would impose on us as a nominee or a Ted Cruz compromised by support from the GOPe would also lead us to have ‘buyers remorse’ if they reach the White House.

It will take continuous white hot rage from the grassroots for there to be any chance of things really changing for the better in this country.

I am very content with the current political climate in this country and dare I say the climate on Free Republic right now.

I support Cruz, but don’t hate Trump and wouldn’t even diss him the way Ted is right now.

Bravo for you! I also voted for him in the Texas primary election.

I haven’t lost hope. And I won’t be voting for the huckster/charlatan with the fuzzy rug on his head either!

Are you paid to carry Cruz’s water or just willfully blind? You seem too emotionally attached to Cruz to see the buckets of slime he dumps on Trump. Including the night violent communists attacked us. After that Cruz breezily mentioned the protesters and in his next breath he dumped an entire file of smears on Trump. Carnac Cruz also smeared Trump by alleging something MAY be in Trump’s taxes. Are you going to deny that unprincipled behavior also?

Cruz would be the first Republican nominee that I wouldn’t have to hold my nose first to vote for since GWB and Reagan before him. I would vote for Trump over Hillary if it came to that but I won’t be proud of it.

....”The fact is that people ‘believe’ that Donald trump.... will actually do the things he says.”.......

I don’t believe that he will, he’s a deal maker and ALWAYS that which is in his own favor first and foremost. He’ll be ‘dealing’ with the same bunch the rest have, he won’t be turning the spigot off to the Elites....he’ll just use it to have his way and nobody knows what that will be......not to mention line the pockets of the crony capitalist who will be funding his run against Hillary.....Oligarchy ahead IMO. Just moving the chairs on the deck.

“And that makes Katwomen’s post less valid why?”

Actually it does. She makes a BIG point of how important FR is to her and then renders judgement on FR based on her supposedly vast experience here, while she’s got less than 150 posts over 4 years.

I’ve posted over 13,000 replies during 7 years here and make no such judgements.

One could argue that a person writing fewer posts actually has time to read more FR posts.

There won’t be a wall.....rather a swinging door for human commodity....just as Trump has stated but his supporters aren’t hearing. Along with that lower wages, as Trump has said for the US to meet the wages of the rest of the world so the cronies can bring their businesses back here.
