Trump and Cruz Delegates in Tennessee To Form Grassroots Alliance []

NASHVILLE, Tennessee— Many of the 49 delegates in Tennessee who are pledged to either Donald Trump or Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)will reportedly meet this month to seal a grassroots alliance in which they pledge their votes during any contested convention only to Trump or Cruz.

“My concern is that whether you are a Cruz delegate or a Trump delegate the establishment wants to nominate somebody like John Kasich who has no mathematical chance or moral authority to become the nominee because he has received so few votes in the primaries,” former State Rep. Joe Carr, an at-large Cruz delegate, tells Breitbart News. He adds:

As a result of this flagrant attempt at hijacking the process, I have contacted several of the Tennessee Trump and Cruz delegates in an effort to band together with the goal of making sure that the duly elected delegates have their voices heard according to current RNC Convention Rules. If the establishment persists in their recklessness attempt to steal the nomination from either Donald Trump or Senator Cruz, the Republican Party may not recover for a generation....

Yep, here is what all the Pundits and the DC types forget, the state delegations, not the national party bosses, will do the nominating.

The nominee will be Cruz or Trump.

I’m for it... Though I support Cruz and I’d prefer the voters of all the states to be heard, I sure as hell don’t want a mess made of the convention. Sounds like the two forces are going to join to ensure that doesn’t happen.

I know the Cruz people like to stand side by side with Trump and pretend they’re in the same position but they’re really not. Cruz is basically in the same position as Kasich. At some point he will be mathematically eliminated too and he’ll have to take it to the convention (It’s clear that’s what his strategy is now). If Cruz has a case then so does Kasich.

Perfect. And they should have a joint presser to make this clear to the GOPe and the fake corporate controlled “conservative” talk show flacks.

heh.

Trump/Cruz will make the rules.

Landslide ticket.

Wouldn’t it be nice (and maybe this is for a separate thread), if we could list all the things Trump would need to change to be more palatable to Cruz supporters, and list all the things Cruz would need to change to be more palatable to Trump supporters, keeping in mind that Hillary and the Dems are the ultimate enemy and we love our country too much not to fight with everything we’ve got!

Just the right thing to do. Several years ago TN conservatives got into a cage match to the death between two excellent men, either of whom would have made a fine senator, enabling the vile RINO Corker to get elected. Right now, we’ve won the nomination, it’s just not been determined which of two fine men will get it. Lt’ not blow it with a mutually suicidal cage match between Trump and Cruz.

Shouldn’t even need an alliance. Should just be a given.

Honestly, I like both. I wish Trump would stop with the petty name calling an Cruz should stop with twisting the truth.

If Trump has the most delegates, it should be a Trump/Cruz ticket.

Trump runs the country for 4 years Cruz takes over for 8 more.

To bad egos will get in the way of what’s good for the country.

Great Plan!! Spread the word...
Here’s the TN voting results:

TN Primary Votes Cast: 854,470
Trump: 332,703 38.94% delegates 33
Cruz: 211,157 24.71% delegates 16
Rubio: 180,992 21.18% delegates 9

Note, by their own rules, They are bound to their own candidate through the 2nd vote.

At the National Convention, delegates are bound for at least 2 ballots. TCA §§2-13-307(b) and 2-13-308.
