Paul Ryan: I Know Best
breitbart ^ | 3/17/16 | j hayward

An unintentionally revealing interview with House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) 56% shows exactly why he’s being touted as an establishment replacement for Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, and also why Trump is the shocking frontrunner for the 2016 nomination.

Like some modern Marie Antoinette, Ryan seems to be utterly clueless about the state of the nation, and utterly condescending towards the voters he needs to keep his job, according to his answers in the interview with CNBC interviewer John Harwood.

But first, with some throat-clearing modesty, Ryan wants to distance himself from establishment calls that he should take the nomination from Donald Trump when the GOP’s delegates meet in July. “It’s funny, but I actually think you should run for President if you’re going to be President. I’m not running for President. I made that decision, consciously, not to,” said Ryan, after fortifying himself with a sip of Guinness stout. “I’m not thinking about it. I’m happy where I am, so no.”

Then he made clear that he’s going to fight Trump’s populist pitch. “I’m going to speak my mind. I’m going to defend conservatism as I understand it,” Ryan told Harwood. “I’m going to defend our ideas as the Republican Party. But we’re going to have to work with whoever the nominee is.”

A clueless, condescending, and tone-deaf RINO DC-insider?

How on earth did that happen?

Vote for anyone except Ryan—Even the Democrat.

A two timing, lying, arrogant, programmed, snivilling, fake, establishment, elitist, self proclaimed wantabe... poor substitute for a man with power that he has no business having. They all are stained and tainted to the enth degree.

Many of this last year knew that Ryan, if it were possible, would be worse than Boehner.

He epitomizes the GOPe. No wonder why Boehner is endorsing him enthusiastically.

Remember when Ryan said he would not consider the job as Speaker unless the majority rule was done away with?

He wanted to be Emperor of the House, with no accountability for anything he did.

And we want THAT as a President?

We already have one, and thankfully he is gone in a few months, finally.

Ryan is clueless and not that smart. If you ever really looked at that supposed brilliant budget he put together several years ago that would balance the budget in 10 years it was unimpressive. He’s no economic wizard.

Ryan is a part-timer, not at all committed to solving real issues.

"I’m going to defend conservatism as I understand it,” Ryan told Harwood.

Increasingly there are not enough voters who agree with that to fill Madison Square Garden.

Boehner AND Romney. Lyin Ryan has been outed as an establishment hack. These are the guys who destroyed conservatism. Not Trump.

Ryan showed his true colors in the 2012 election debates. Couldn’t even hold his own against old man Biden!

“Ryan is clueless and not that smart.”

If Ryan and McConnell were serious they would have:
1) Drafted and passed a replacement for O’Care and sent it to the President’s desk. Yes they passed a bill to repeal it but they still haven’t provided an alternative. They would have more credibility if they proposed a free market alternative.
2) Stop passing omnibus spending bills which allow Obama to threaten to veto the entire bill and then blame Congress for shutting down the government. Break spending authorizations up into hundreds of separate spending bills and send a few every week to the President for signature or veto. Have actual cuts in those bills. Force Obama to veto or sign them. When he vetos the Department of Interior bill because Congress has cut a few million out of the environmentalist lobby slush fund (also known as consulting budget) the Republicans should go on the attack telling the people it is sad Obama is closing down the national parks in order to protect subsidies to the Sierra Club. Same thing for the HUD budget and others. Instead they keep doing the same thing that hasn’t worked for 7 years - big omnibus bills that give Obama everything he wants.

Ryan is a fraud. He was touted as the brainy policy wonk. Then in the 2008 VP debate stupid old Joe Biden wiped the floor with him. Since then Ryan, like Boehner, McConnell, Grahmam, McCain, and most of the GOP members of Congress has been all talk.

Early in my business career an executive told me there are three kinds of managers. The first are the doers - they produce results. The second are the explainers - they talk about grand plans but don’t deliver and then always have excuses. The third are the incompetents - they produce nothing and have no excuses.

The GOPe is full of explainers.

Ryan was terrible. And the poor guy did not want to be the speaker but was pressured to take the job. Thus, seems he is easily pressured into thing. Is anybody running against him in the primary?

This is all you need to know about what we are dealing with:

“I’m going to speak my mind. I’m going to defend conservatism as I understand it,” Ryan told Harwood.

They know nothing about it.

The donor-establishment class gets a hold of guys like Ryan early, so they can mold and coddle them.

They prop them up and make them invincible, no doubt filling their heads with the idea of their own brilliance and mastery. The donor-establishment class promises to support them, and probably guarantees them 'reelection in perpetuity,' and all the power they could ever want.

All of this is validated by other pols, most of whom have experienced, to some degree, the magic touch of the donor-establishment class.

That's where the chip-on-the-shoulder comes from. We saw it with Rubio, Boehner, even Kasich, and many others. Now Ryan is the new golden boy.

When Kasich made his ridiculous victory speech (after winning his home state as a sitting governor! and making it sound like the WH is his next stop), that ridiculousness comes from the people who prop Kasich up, whisper in his ear and tell him how great he is. In a week or a month, the donor-establishment class will toss him out like an old newspaper.

"I’m going to defend conservatism as I understand it..."

Very telling when these arrogant bastards have to qualify every statement they make.

His words would carry more weight if he simply stated "I’m going to defend conservatism."
