Led by avowed Marxists, they came from SDS, NAM (New American Movement, a post SDS organization that included former SDSers), Michael Harrington’s Marxist Democratic Socialists, some members of the old Socialist Party(the Marxist faction), and former members of the Communist Party USA including Obama’s personal physician (who just died last week, Praise the Lord, but a lot too late in my opinion) Dr. Quentin Young (one of the key voices for an Universal HealthCare program. His group, MCHR - Medical Campaign for Human Rights, was the medical arm of the Chicago Convention 1968 rioters, and then created the SHO - Student Health Organization for the younger protestors.
Institute for Policy Studies - formed by three former JFK/LBJ administration foreign policy staffers - Richard Barnet -hardcore Marxist; Marcus Raskin - covert Marxist and the real brains of IPS; Arthur Waskow - Marxist posing as a Jewish religious leader.
IPS - funded by numberous CPUSA individuals and sympathizers, as well as very left-liberal foundations and by the Samuel Rubin Foundation (run by his IPS leader daughter Cora Rubin Weiss - her husband, Peter Weiss) Weiss is an attorney who is in many CPUSA legal fronts (NECLC, NLG) and Marxist-controlled legal organizations such as the old CP-created front, the National Lawyers Guild (NLG), which created the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), once run by the CPUSA, now by its clones and mixed Marxists.
Demos - a far-left organization that poses as a liberal “think tank”. Smells of old 60’s radicals and their offspring. Have tons of leftist and foundation money. They are a newer version of IPS and just as dangerous. The left media always like to quote them, esp. the Wash. Post.
You will find tons of information on these groups at www.keywiki.org and www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org. Look at them and then do an overlay of that information to that of Klein and his article. They provide the “flesh” to what conservative columns write but without the background knowledge these sites have.
This is really true with those smoking the new marijuana being cultivated and harvested from legal farms versus drainage ditch pot or Mexican Cartel stuff grown in one of our national forests.
