Franklin Graham: Vote for the 'Least Heathen' Candidate
PJ Media ^ | March 18, 2016 | Tyler O'Neil

Posted on 03/18/2016 3:53:54 PM PDT by JSDude1

The Reverend Franklin Graham urged his fellow Christians to vote in November, even if they have to choose between two "heathen" candidates. Son of the Reverend Billy Graham and president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Graham has taken on much of his father's mantle in the evangelical community.

In an interview with CBN in Denver this week, Graham stressed the importance of voting for all Christians.

I don't care who wins and who's out there, you have to vote. And I'm not going to tell people who to vote for, I'm not going to do that -- let God tell you who to vote for. You may have to hold your nose, you may have to decide which is the least heathen of the two heathen." Graham did not specify which candidates he considered to be "heathens," but it seems likely he was referring to the current frontrunners in the Republican and Democratic parties. Republican Donald Trump claims to be a Christian, but he is well-known for boasting of sleeping with many women, for attempting to take an aged widow's house to build a limousine parking lot, and for repeating on television that he does not remember asking God for forgiveness.

Some would want Trump to go through some kind of Kabuki dance or at least divorce the latest wife, which sounds like trying to fight a fire with a spray of gasoline.

That’s another thing Trump supporters have in common with liberals. They have to attach -phobe as a way of bullying into compliance. Not all supporters, of course, but certainly too many.

Why is some people never understand the first amendment. It’s about the government not being able to punish you for your speech. It has abolutely nothing to do with being disrupted at a stupid rally.

Oh, you must listen to Mark Levin...How astute of you.

Let me rephrase....Trump and his supporters were denied their liberty and freedom to exercise free speech and assemble for political speech. Trump and supporters should be able to exercise free speech in a free republic, and that was not permitted because various fascist and anarchist groups want to shut down political discourse of all types...Had you actually been at the Rally you would know that it was much bigger than just Trump...

The GOPe and candidates apparently don’t support free speech or the freedom and liberty to hold a rally. They condemned Trump and his supporters.

Had Cruz been the target, I suspect you would have a different take...

Oh, and so mature of you to say it was a stupid rally...At least Trump did not get sworn in at a mock inauguration n like Cruz did by Beck.

Oh and the rally? It was not just disrupted...Property was damaged, people were injured, and I myself was ambushed by a Chicago Rent-a-mob of thugs...My “crime” trying to leave...I had no Trump sign, I had no Trump hat, no pin...I was just with a friend in a car and I was white and leaving the area...I have posted it on video many times this week. It was not just “disruption of a stupid rally” and you not condemning this is really encouraging more lawlessness, and we are getting it with more threats and lawlessness.

I guess you believe in voting for the candidate with the best hair? Did I get the gist of your posting of Trump’s bad hair day?

What a way to choose a president. By hair. Or not. Personally, I am bald.

I guess I am disqualified.

That, among others is the reason why Ted Cruzzzzzz would be a good SCOTUS justice.....not POTUS because I wouldn’t be able to look at that face and hear that whiney voice for 4 or more years.........sheesh!

Trump has repented from evil, which is the flipside of being forgiven.

++++++

Really, he sure hasnt acted like he’s repented. I see no difference in trump now from trump months ago.

I agree but I also think these Cruzers have fallen for the cult of personality or have made Cruz into some sort of political messiah. They act holier than thou, have special discernment ability that the rest of the world doesn’t get and if they don’t they act like they should be damned to hell. Their over the top hate for Trump is a bit shocking, especially when they keep telling everyone they are Christians.

They also act like we’ve abandon conservatism. One only needs to remind these folks that it was the “conservative /tea party” congress that gave everything Obama wanted last December. These same congress critters voted to support Planned Parenthood, even after all those videos came out. But, you don’t hear the Cruzers scream about that. They’ll even accept the endorsement of these congress people who passed that bill all the while bashing Trump for past statements.

Well aren’t you judgmental...

Of trump who claims to be a great Christian...yes. He’s lying, threatening and very prideful...fruits of a sinner.

And his profane talk on howard stern’s show...disgusting.

Being self-righteous isn’t considered Christian.

+++++

Trump does need to show humility. His ego is enormous.

“I.e. Ted Cruz.”

Ted Cruz has sold his soul to the GOPe. Ted has prostituted himself to the Washington establishment. Ted put himself above the country. IMHO Ted does qualify as a heathen.

Is this true?

Hey Franklin, here's an idea that you and your fellow preachers should try:

How about voting for the most humble candidate?

Seemed to work for Ronald Reagan.

Sorry Franklin but if I were supposed to be a humble minister of God and taking a $1million plus salary I don’t know that I would be throwing the heathen bomb.

So apparently you have some right wing christian talking points memo that you are working off... I reply, you add new points. Pull something from 12 years ago...sheesh...take a look in the mirror at prideful and judgemental. I could find more to refute but I am done.

You are obviously voting for Cruz on the “moral superiorty platform” Fine.

...It will be a sad day if Trump does not win and the GOPe nominates Romney or Ryan or Kasich (but then Kasich is OK right?)...

Trump is taking incoming from all sides...he is the one who could have made a difference...

Dr. Jeremiah is the white haired man standing behind and to Trump’s right in the picture, with his hand on Trump’s shoulder. He is a SBC preacher, senior pastor at Shadow Mountain Community Church in the San Diego area and has a radio and TV Ministry. He is one of the few TV preachers who is not a ‘prosperity’, or false preacher, unlike Copeland or White.

Yes, seems my FRiend is working off of some right-wing talking points memo...and he is in the “moral superiority” wing of the Cruz contingency.

He ought to take a good look in the mirror and stop judging the heart of Trump and his supporters...

He implies that Graham is saying vote Cruz...unbelievable ...Not what Graham said, and there are lots of other strong Christians who are supporting Trump. Shame on these judgmental fools.

Oh so I guess that means that other Christians like Pat Robertson are evil...Sheesh.
