A man shot a burglar who broke into his home Friday in Parkville, Baltimore County police said.
Police said officers responded at 2:26 a.m. to the 2300 block of Harford Hills Road on a report of shots fired. A man at the home told police that he had just shot an intruder.
"He heard the suspect say, 'I'm in your house, I'm coming to get you.' The man armed himself with a gun and closed the door to the room he was in. The suspect kicks in that door. The man, fearing for his life, shoots the suspect several times," Baltimore County police Cpl. John Wachter said.
After the shooting, police said the victim ran from the house, got help and waited for officers to arrive.
Police said they found the suspect in the man's house. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.
Police do not yet know why the house became a target.

Both. The “victim” referred to in the article is the homeowner who shot the intruder. After shooting the intruder inside his house, he ran out of his house leaving the suspect inside.
The victim was the homeowner. The guy he shot was the perpetrator.

I am guessing you probably would. I have a bunch of dogs including a couple of German Shepherds. They are just for warning, I would not want them to get hurt.
I love happy endings. I'll bet the intruder was "turning his life around", too.

The author correctly identified the homeowner as the victim and not, as the msm is wont to do, the ventilated perp.
You are suffering from liberal thinking. The victim is the homeowner whose house was burglarized, the suspect is the burglar who was shot by the victim.
One can not be the perpetrator and the victim at the same time. For once, the story got it right.

Dogs prevent the situation. Guns only solve it after the fact.
Most people aren’t stupid enough to even TEST a Shepherd. Certainly not someone who intends criminal activity. They generally flee.
That is why dogs are so great, better than guns as “preventatives” because a) perps cannot see or hear a gun at all by itself and will still barge in, b) they don’t want to be “called out” as they want to be sneaky, c) the dog will likely not hesitate to “go off” and does not even have to go fetch a weapon (yes, even seconds count - you reaching for your pistol on the nightstand).
Common scum know this. They avoid dogs generally as noise-makers, and specific types they see as aggressive. If they can see your Shepherd in the window, so much the better!
Semi autos sold in California must not be able to fire when the magazine is removed. The 1911 will.
I agree. I read a survey once that they conducted of people in prison. They asked them what they were most frightened of. The number one answer was a citizen with a gun and a dog in the house was up at number two or three. They also said in that survey that if a dog had a house in it, they would find another house to break into. Cops were far down on their list of fears. I wish I could find the thing again as it was very interesting. I agree that dogs are a great deterrent but I also know how fragile dogs really are and would not want any of mine hurt if somebody was determined or drugged up enough to break into my house. My plan is to use my weapon to make them stop resisting, hopefully before one of my dogs gets hurt.
