Will They Steal The Election From Donald Trump? - Stefan Molyneux

Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump continues to increase his lead in national polls and accumulate more delegates than his opposition. At this point, Trump is the clear choice of conservative voters to be the Republican nominee and presidential candidate.

While many of his harshest critics have accepted his status as the likely Republican nominee – efforts persist to stop him.

If Trump gains 1,237 delegates prior to the start of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio on July 18th, he clinches the nomination.

If Trump doesn’t reach 1,237 delegates prior to the convention – he could be denied the nomination via a contested convention despite being the choice of most Republican voters.

....And could plant the seeds of a revolt if that was to happen.

While I appreciate your optimism, there are no signs Cruz has any chance at all. But good luck with the hope.

Ted Cruz has no chance of getting to 1237 unless Trump and Kashick drop out immediately. He will be far short of the required delegates. He is nothing but a spoiler at this point.

You Cruz supporters are voting for a candidate who cannot win unless Trump and Kashick drop out immediately. Cruz is now helping the GOP to get their coveted open convention. Cruz will not be part of their deal. They hate Cruz more than Trump. Cruz is nothing more than a useful idiot for the GOP right now. If you truly want to strike a death blow to the Republican cartel, then STOP VOTING FOR TED CRUZ!

If Trump doesn’t get 1237 then he doesn’t win...

It would be nice for the REPUBLICAN nominee to have actually been elected by Republicans... As is stands now, it’s been an easy road for Trump since he’s had the benefit of Democrats & Independents voting for him in open states...

Hopefully, he won’t make it to 1237 and the STATE delegates can correct this BS...

Hillary will beat Trump in a head-to-head election...

People want someone who will change DC and fight. With the help of bluster, name ID, 2 billion in free media 40% have latched on to Trump. Its a joke to anyone who has followed politics because they know Trump is a progressive, liberal, big government, crony capitalist, pro abortion, Democrat donor, Soros business partner who supported TARP, stimulus and single payer. Trump is like all the Rinos that have sold us out. No core, no values, no principles, is liberal on social issues, wants to cut the deal and has a pathetic desire that people are “nice to him”. That is the profile of a sellout Rino.

Read Art of the Deal and you’ll realize their reality TV star idol will sell them out in a heartbeat. I laugh how the Trumpbots think they can trust a man who has ripped off business partners, bullies citizens with eminent domain, used bankruptcy laws to rip off multiple banks and is on his third trophy wife. So many are projecting legit frustration into a fraud, flawed man. Frustrating thing is with Cruz we have the real McCoy who would change DC.

Someone, either before the convention, or at the convention will get 1237 or more delegates to vote for him. That person will be the winner. This may not be the person with the plurality of the votes.

In my opinion the only two people who should get the nomination is either Trump or Cruz, based on States win etc. If Trump comes in with the most delegates, and losses to Cruz, then Mr. Greatest Negotiator in the World will have to congratulate Cruz for doing a better job making a deal.

If Trump gets 1237 delegates, he’ll “probably” be the nominee. He probably needs at least 50 more to keep shenanigans from happening.

If he gets 1236 delegates, he won’t be the nominee. The Convention is run by the party apparatus. The art of the deal of the 2nd ballot won’t be Trump’s deal. My guess is that upwards of 25% of Trump’s delegates will be bound to him for round one but not ideologically allied with him and ready to bail for round two. In most cases the state party picks the delegates.

1236 allows the party to rightly claim that Trump was not the choice of the majority of voters, as represented by delegates.

Look. Trump can’t position himself as the antidote to the GOP and not expect them to push back. The rules for an open convention favor the House.

This is why Trump argued yesterday that the splinter strategy he adapted and co-opted from the establishment is now unfair to him. How can anyone get to a majority with so many candidates in the race? Even if this crowded field was essential to him amassing his delegates in the first place.

If Trump arrives in Cleveland with less than 1237, he will not be the nominee.

They have to steal it away. Trump doesn’t comply with the notion that elites are in place to protect the elite. Trump is campaigning on elite corruption with major issues that are supposed to be kept silent lest the people realize they could rise and eliminate the grip the elite has over their lives overnight.

Trump is an existential threat to their hold on power.

Look at who his enemies are and it becomes clear.

The only reason Cruz got this far is because Trump acted as a flak shield until we could knock out Bush. Cruz knew that which is why he withheld fire until the bush collapse. Still bad judgement to launch an attack on Trump then. I knew that Cruz was a long shot when I began donating to his campaign because of the power of the media but Trump changed that formula. Cruz was best in the scenario that he kept pace with Trump and got in as a veep. He could have served for years and years then moved on to SCOTUS. Why he didn’t play that right is a lamentation for the ages...

Yes, they will steal the nomination. They are already going to change the rules ahead of the convention. All this talk in plain sight and they think we will sit back and take their medicine. They have broken the party. History is being made.

Just what about the “majority of delegates” rule for the past 39 conventions do bonehead Trumpbots not understand?

If the Convention is so rigged, why don’t Trump and his lemmings demand “enough Primaries, we are clearly in the lead, give me the nomination NOW”.

Anyone so afraid to actually go through the long established process, has no core confidence they can win fair and square!

No because his margin of victory will be far too large for even the Democrats to steal. 15% of Blacks won’t show up another 20% will actually vote for Trump and Democrats as a whole will vote 20% for Trump. That will off set 14% of Republicans who say they will vote for Hillary and be a net + 6 right there. All of that = LANDSLIDE for Trump.
