Pope Francis: Rejecting Refugees Is Like Crucifying Jesus

(Daily Caller) Pope Francis went off script and turned political during his Palm Sunday homily, comparing nations who won’t accept refugees to the leaders who allowed the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Francis spoke for the Christian holiday in St. Peter’s Square Sunday, where he compared leaders indifferent to the fate of the flood of refugees migrating to Europe to the leaders who did not intervene to save Jesus, Reuters reports.

“I am thinking of so many other people, so many marginalized people, so many asylum seekers, so many refugees,” Francis said. “There are so many who don’t want to take responsibility for their destiny.”

Palm Sunday is the day Christians celebrate Jesus coming into the city of Jerusalem riding on a donkey, as prophesied in the Old Testament. It also marks one week before Jesus rose from the dead. The Gospels say the people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus on Sunday with cheers in the streets, but by the end of the week he was crucified.

“Jesus also suffered on his own skin indifference, because no one wanted to take on the responsibility for his destiny,” Francis said. “And I am thinking of so many people, so many on the margins, so many refugees” for whom “many don’t want to assume responsibility for their destiny,”

Francis’s original homily stuck to more traditional Palm Sunday topics of Jesus, life and death, and the forgiveness of sins.

Will this buffoon no stop? Making such a comparison belittles Christ’s atoning work on the cross.

Then he and the rest of the gang won’t mind opening up Saint Peter’s facility there in Rome and take in 500 refugees there....right? Or perhaps they will empty some of their piggy-bank funds to help refugees?

May I suggest accepting all these ‘refugees’ into Vatican City?

Problem solved.

Bergoglio and Obama - twins sons of different mothers. Roman Catholics need to demand a recount.

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, “Mr. Pope, Tear Down this Wall!” In order to practice what he preaches, Francis needs to knock down the massive protective walls around the Vatican so that refugees can pour in to live in the Vatican Apartments. He can also give up his country mansion at Castle Gandolfo which could accommodate hundreds of new refugees. I suspect he won’t, he would give up his luxurious perch to lecture the rest of us.

He should have stuck to the original script.

This is a straw man argument. Forbidding an illegal action by non-citizens does not preclude our acting with charity to satisfy their most pressing needs.

We are the most generous nation on earth and I know we will gladly help get them set up in safe zones while they weather the latest Muslim insanity out.

So this is the Catholic faith - to subject your women to rape and assault? Is this the message they want the world to get?

Is nobody straightening out the Pontiff?

This Pope comes like a thief in the night. He can not be a Christian nor Christs Vicar and make these pronouncements. God save my Church and my Country.
