Ted Cruz questioned John Kasich's decision to stay in the presidential race Monday, openly speculating that Kasich may want to be Donald Trump's vice president.
Cruz also definitively told Fox News that if Kasich were not in the race, he would be able to hit the 1,237 delegate benchmark to clinch the Republican nomination before the convention. The Texas senator's declaration came not long before his scheduled address before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's policy conference.
"Either scenario is possible," Cruz said regarding his chances of winning the nomination outright or at a contested convention. "I think we have a clear path to 1,237, and we are fighting hard. If John Kasich were not in the race, we would get to 1,237. It is possible. Kasich's role is a spoiler."
When FNC's Bret Baier asked him why Kasich was staying in the race, Cruz said that he really didn't have a good idea before bringing up the possibility of being on Trump's general election ticket.
"I have no good explanation," Cruz said. "Maybe he's auditioning to be Donald Trump's vice president. Every vote for Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump."
"If Kasich were not in the race, I'd be very confident we'd get to 1,237," Cruz said. "If he stays in the race, I think we still can, but it's a more difficult path."
Far as I know, Ted is the only one that has met with Kasich and company.

Cruz is a pathological liar and is here projecting his next move. There are reports that Cruz is considering having Rubio as VP and is currently polling how a Cruz/Rubio team would help in the upcoming primary states.
Isn't Cruz only like 100-something delegates away from being mathematically eliminated from being able to reach a 1,237 delegate majority? Is he completely off his rocker? With states like New York yet to vote, and give its 95 delegates to Trump when he gets over 50% there (he's polling at 64% in New York right now)?
Trump is at 49% nationally in Reuters, 45% in Morning Consult and 46% in the CBS national poll just now. It's Trump who'd go flying over 50% sans Kasich, not Cruz.
Trump surrounds himself with smart people.

This Cruz is the most despicable liar and con man I’ve ever seen.
Now we see Cruz is allying himself with Soros, Mitt Romney, Lindsay Graham , etc. all the enemies of America and Americans when his words led many Americans to think he was for them and against these enemies. But his actions show Cruz is with the Gope.
. Cruz did support H1B(lied about flipping on it), ditto for TPA, Iran nukes deal (The corker bill). This Cruz was even involved in getting Roberts(obamacare) on the scene. Just TPA TPP and obamacare and Iran nukes, the 3 worse things ever for America Cruz was for.
Any of you supporting Cruz that live in the United States will have a lot of economic hurt coming to you courtesy of Cruz and China with TPP , illegals, immigrants, H1Bs etc.
It’s ridiculous that many Cruz supporters would rather be a worshiper of this Canadian fraud than to save the USA they live in from falling into the abyss politicians have us close to falling into, and then have the Country they live in go down the tubes. You Cruz supporters think you won’t go down with America when China wipes out manufacturing in the USA with TPP? Think again.

Rafael is not a natural-born U.S. citizen and his Mother may have held Canadian citizenship in 1970 when he was born and is therefore ineligible to seek the presidency of the United States.
Kasich really screwed up right to work. All he had to do was get legislation passed to eliminate the mandatory payroll deduction, or just go after the teachers union. Then he could sit back and watch the issue snowball. As people stopped paying dues they’d see that unions aren’t neccessary. Kasich could have been a right to work hero. But he didn’t and he lumped fire and police in with teachers.
This is an issue because most union people I know (I’m a teacher, my husband’s a professional firefighter) hate Kasich and love Trump. If Trump picks him as veep, it could cost him Ohio.
Says Cruz who would like a VP slot, if Trump manages to get the needed 1237 delegates.
