Ted Cruz questioned John Kasich's decision to stay in the presidential race Monday, openly speculating that Kasich may want to be Donald Trump's vice president.
Cruz also definitively told Fox News that if Kasich were not in the race, he would be able to hit the 1,237 delegate benchmark to clinch the Republican nomination before the convention. The Texas senator's declaration came not long before his scheduled address before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's policy conference.
"Either scenario is possible," Cruz said regarding his chances of winning the nomination outright or at a contested convention. "I think we have a clear path to 1,237, and we are fighting hard. If John Kasich were not in the race, we would get to 1,237. It is possible. Kasich's role is a spoiler."
When FNC's Bret Baier asked him why Kasich was staying in the race, Cruz said that he really didn't have a good idea before bringing up the possibility of being on Trump's general election ticket.
"I have no good explanation," Cruz said. "Maybe he's auditioning to be Donald Trump's vice president. Every vote for Kasich is a vote for Donald Trump."
"If Kasich were not in the race, I'd be very confident we'd get to 1,237," Cruz said. "If he stays in the race, I think we still can, but it's a more difficult path."
Thats why I have to discount a lot of the crap that gets spouted. It represents the demented 1%.

And it’s got John Valentine written all over it...get lost!!!
You mean YOUR VP!
And what role did he play in the North American Union, which his wife Heidi spearheaded while she was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations? Was the plan that since Cruz was a Cuban-Canadian, and not an American, the way he could rise to president and to power could only be in a borderless North American Union in which all three nations lost their sovereignty and became one nation.
with Kasich out he might have a chance. Kasich is the best friend the Donald ever had.
Ted won't produce his CRBA, which, according to his own statements, will confirm his eligibility to be president (though law scholars are split totally about that being enough.) So much similarity between him and Obama---both foreigners born in foreign countries and not Americans (Ted's father fighted for the communists in Cuba---that's a whole other can of worms I wonder what the real story is about, but questioning Rafael and the Coming IN of the Saints or whatever all that Beck bs is is portrayed by Cruzers like questioning the pope or Mother Teresa.)
There's just too much in the last fifteen years of our twofer, Ted and Heidi, very much like the twofer we got of Bill and Hillary. Power hungry, willing to take any political position if it provides a path to power.
So Ted and Heidi met through the Bush organization, worked in the Bush White House, and now Ted's campaign is basically the JEB! campaign, as he's hired sketchy Neil Bush and the ENTIRE JEB! organization.
Then if you start researching Keep the Faith and his several superpacs, a whole different bunch of questions arise when you drill down and find out who is FUNDING his superpacs.
For starters, someone, some media org, needs to do an FOIA on Heidi and what she produced and what her advice was while she was a Bush adviser on subjects like TRADE and DERIVATIVES. Also she was an adviser on the Caribbean, where coincidentally Cruz and a college buddy had been involved in a very sketchy private equity deal, and the college buddy relo'd to Atlanta after they got in trouble and as far as I know never has returned to the Caribbean, despite the fact that he was an upcoming politician there, eligible bachelor, dated beauty queens, had a child with one.
More Obama similarities---in that there is SO MUCH about Cruz that is TOTALLY unknown. Like what a coincidence: Obama's father was a commie, Ted's father was jailed in Cuba for being a commie. Ted's father raised money for them in Austin.
What a tangled web we weave huh...
Does Deutsche Bank and Soros have a multi-million dollar investment in Trump?
One of the Phoenix Soros protesters tweeted that Cruz people helped them set up the blockade. The tweet is floating around on Twitter and in the stories about the Soros insider who chained herself by the neck to the van. I haven’t seen it here on FR-—have you? It may have been scrubbed, maybe even scrubbed from the internet. In the tweet the Soros protestor was thanking the Cruz people for the help. Soros is funding Kasich, Soros is funding the rent-a-protesters, Cruz funded Fiorina’s campaign-—I imagine if we drill down into Cruz’s superpacs that Soros has been funding globalist Cruz.
OMG. Heidi Cruz DID NOT spearhead the NAU at CFR. Do you actually know ANYTHING or are you just content to lie for your guy?!!!!! Stop spreading lies!!! Donald Trump has some nerve calling Ted Cruz a liar. No liar could hold a candle.to the Trumpsters here!
I don't know who is crazier, Cruzbeckies or Birthers.
What a tangled web we weave huh...
Yes . The more we find out about this Canadian fraud Cruz we see how evil, lying and manipulative this Cruz is.
The media and Cruz believe that if they repeat a lie often enough people will believe it and many did believe Cruz’s lies . I never believed Cruz . His actions like TPA spoke for him. Plus a dead give away is that Cruz was born in Canada , so he is no American, then a Harvard lawyer like Romney and Obama, all 3 charlatans and anti-American members of the world establishment vs We the people and America and Trump.
I just hope Trump can pull it off and Save America from Soros/Cruz/Obama/gope , they are all together, the world establishment against one man Trump.
Is Trump telling the Truth? I dont know. I am not sure he knows what he intends to do as president, if he is elected. He is the surfer riding the wave, and he will only go as far as the wave lets him.
You are so fixated at looking at the other guy that you do not see what your man is doing.
Can’t argue with that
+1
Cruz only needs 87% of the remaining delegates
