Strongly agree that the words of this speech are even more forceful in light of today’s events in Brussels. It’s also enlightening that Orban called out Brussels for unauthorized overreach in trying to become the United States of Europe. Very prescient, IMO.
All it would take is one liberal to open the borders for just a couple of years. Doesn't matter if that lib is both preceded and followed by an Orbán government.

The Hungarians have centuries of first hand experience of living under let us say transnational political bodies whether Ottoman Turks, Habsburgs or Communists. The idea they will give up national determination to Brussels is madness.
Western Culture = European Culture
In America, the Progressives have worked to eradicate European culture from America.

Protestant Christians tend to have a triumphalist view of history. Northwest Europe was never threatened by Islam; Protestants threw off the old Catholic chains and swept through North America, Manifest Destiny.
Catholics had to go up against Muslims, in Spain, France, Italy, Austria - they know, or used to know, how dangerous Islam was.
The Eastern Christians suffered defeat, and lost most of their numbers to conversion, and managed to hold on for 1400 years as a subjugated remnant.
The Russian Christians - I do wonder what kind of force the Russian Orthodox will be in the future.
