Exactly. Trumpsters’ heads explode because of what Trump said? Unsurprising.

“what Trump is suggesting is bad policy, and this is the proof.”

Or, Trump is right- look at all the money we spend and it gets us what? Though I’m not sure NATO has anything to do with it.

Cruz is using the same “It’s Bush’s Fault” techniques where anything and everything gets blamed on Trump, no matter what it is.

Patently absent from all of this is Cruz blaming Trump for the Brussels attacks, but the sound byte was so delicious for the low information types, they had to swallow it, hook, line and sinker.

Sorry, I don’t think Cruz blamed Trump, he linked him to the event. I believe Cruz could have answered better but he didn’t.

I agree with Trump’s NATO remarks, and I think Cruz should have saved his ire for the Islamists. I just thought saying that Cruz “blamed Trump” was absurd.

Plus, he misrepresented Trumps actual beliefs on at least two occasions.

I agree, and at first I wanted to believe. But I realized Cruz didn’t blame Trump directly. It’s Cruz’s way of linking things together and misrepresenting Trumps views that gets my goat.

Not to mention, during Cruz’s AIPAC speech, he said Trump and Hillary had the same view of the Iran deal.

Given some people’s penchant to believe Cruz blames Trump for the Brussels attacks, who knows what kind of accuracy attends to this assertion as well. I will listen to the speech myself since no transcripts appear to be available. If Cruz mis-represents Trump on this point, then I have no reason to accept his argument.

Nope. Not even close.
But I’m not disagreeing about Trump on NATO, perhaps its good money after bad. Honestly I don’t know what benefit NATO provides. If it is a uniter against Islam then I think it should be funded, doesn’t seem to matter tho. My feeling is that if we’re spending all this money, then they had better do things the right way or we get out.

I do not see much benefit in either candidate attempting to out-do the other in expressing contempt for the Islamic threat. Neither is naive.

Luz told the obvious lie that Trump wants to abandon NATO which is not what he said at all. He’s just sick of us paying more than our fair share for it.

Let me tell you and Luz what the NATO countries are doing for the US. They are flocking to do business with Iran now that the sanctions have been taken off and We are giving them back $150 billion so that they can buy a bunch of crap from Europe. Screw Europe.

Ted Cruz blaming NATO for this is nuts. Ted claiming Trump wanting to get NATO to pay its fair share instead of US taxpayers always footing the bill is what would cause more of this is nuts too.

Ted Cruz is nuts.

This attack is nothing but islam taking advantage of a host nation; NATO has nothing to do with it.

Yes, just as Trump was responsible for all those riots in the US.

You may not be sick of Cruz, but surely you’re sick of the Trump-bashing FINOs?

“We need to be able edit clean up a post after it posted”

There’s a preview function on FR. If you had the discipline to use it, you wouldn’t need an edit function. I’m posting from a tiny little tablet, but I care enough about my communications to others that I check before I hit ‘post’.

Spelling and punctuation will always be the responsibility of the author. That means you and me.

Thank you.

Here’s Trump’s spiel on the Iran deal:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ju3lBKPJ_1A

I find it wholly unconvincing as an argument that he would be more competent or forceful than Cruz in addressing its weaknesses. Trump certainly does not say he will aim to rescind the deal altogether. Neither would Hillary. I’m glad he voices support for Israel and recognizes Iran as a problem. His rhetoric, though. Good grief. He’ll get the 5th graders going for sure. Anyone untrained in critical thinking skills for that matter.

At bottom, however, it is saddening to see so many people expect a president to behave like a king, no matter who holds the office.
