Well, it is public record that Donald supported Carter, Kerry, Rotten, Reid, Schumer, Pelosi, Emmanuel, Crist, Rangel, etc, etc. It would be impossible to deny it.

Populism is a dangerous thing.

It’ll burn you as quickly as it burns the other guy.

It's scary how naive people are to the history of populism.

The end result is almost always WORSE than what the people were angry about to begin with.

We just had a terror attack that is Brussels 9-11. Cruz bashed trump on this very day. Cruz does not want to question terrorist families...his words during the debate he said, “of course not”. Cruz refuses to say no refugees. Cruz refuses to shut out Muslims from coming into America even for six months. Cruz proves he is a supporter of ISIS everyday.

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2016/01/the_definitive_timeline_of_what_ted_cruz_said_and_did_in_the_2013_immigration.html Ok explain this series of events (very good timeline) in context of a purported “poison pill”.

I don’t feel safe either, but my wife and kids I worry more. Cruz is a danger to America because he uses political correctness in his support for ISIS. When you refuse to question terrorist families. When you say trump goes to far with keeping Muslims out of America even for six months. When Cruz refuses to cut refugees. What else is it besides support for ISIS?

“Bare faced lie.”

You could offer facts to refute. Except it’s the truth, soooo…...

He did take responsibility for that. He’s made no secret of any of it.

No he most certainly did not, he made excuses like was outsmarting everyone just like he did on his support for amnesty and increasing H1B visas.

No one, least of all Mr. Trump is denying. One of the reasons I so easily support him. He is up front and unapologetic. But again... I believe any donations over the last 5 years have been to conservatives. Not 100% sure...but pretty sure that’s accurate. Now...if only someone would donate to me lol

“FR is now a fact-free Trump-is-always-right spin zone.”

This worries me above all else.

The only reason Gang of 8 failed is because Cantor lost. The Gang of 8 passed the senate with a majority. If Cruz was against immigration, as he would have you believe, Don’t you think Sen Sessions would be backing him instead? Why isn’t he?

Populism may be the fire required in order to re-establish a two-party system in America.

I’m okay with that.

Considering conservatism lost virtually 100% of its issues for over 30 years, I think we need to bring the house (GOP) down.

After we’ve destroyed what the GOPe / RINOs / Establishment built, we’ll have to do the hard work of building something better and new.

But I have no brief for retaining that old socialist counterproductive beast.

When Cruz admits a mistake (TPP), do you take that as good reason to charge him with using effective strategy AGAINST illegal immigration as showing that he is FOR illegal immigration?

No, I take it to mean cruz is a liar and that he is lying now about his goldman sachs inspired support for TPA, corker bill, amnesty and increasing H1B visas. Not to mention his support for blm and as of today an apologist for isis.

The opportunities to parody Trumpism in-line are pretty funny.

Actual Conservatism is a minority position even at FR. We have to get used to that.

It’s now our job to rebuild conservatism over the remainder of our various lifespans. That’ll not bear fruit while we’re alive, probably.

Nonetheless, we must keep the flame alive and pass it along that liberty may be properly understood and capitalized upon by our progeny in some future generation.

I agree it will be an uphill climb.

I’m truly surprised that JimRob hasn’t done a “purge” like he did with the Guliani supporters years ago.

I understand JimRob’s position, which is close to my own:

The primary objective of this election cycle is:

DEATH TO THE UNIPARTY!

Cruz can do that best with Conservatism.

Trump can do that too with Populism.

We cannot proceed on any of our political planks until the near socialist (read: GOPe / RINO / WSJ Caucus) is defeated within our party. Then, Conservatism can lead.

So, we must first, and nearly without regard to candidate, promote:

DEATH TO THE UNIPARTY!

That it will be ugly is understood.

Sadly, the level of discourse has followed its leader down the drain ....

Doubling the immigrants (lets say the refuges) only doubles the chance that the U.S. will get hit by terrorists that much sooner.

Please consider joining my informal Economic Conservatism ping list.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3412404/posts?page=8

Classical economic conservatism by the likes of Hayek, Friedman, and von Mises. No more than once per day.

We need to foster regular conservatism. I can help do the economics part. We have a long road ahead of us, obviously. But I’ll do my part to keep the flame alive for future generations.
