Jeb Bush endorses Cruz as a 'consistent, principled conservative'

Jeb Bush early Wednesday endorsed Ted Cruz’s Republican presidential bid, calling the Texas senator a “consistent, principled conservative.”

Bush, who ended his own campaign last month, said Cruz has “has demonstrated the ability to appeal to voters and win primary contests.”

“Washington is broken, and the only way Republicans can hope to win back the White House and put our nation on a better path is to support a nominee who can articulate how conservative policies will help people rise up and reach their full potential," the former Florida governor said.

Bush called on Republicans to “overcome the divisiveness and vulgarity has brought to the political arena” or risk losing the White House.

“To win, Republicans need to make this election about proposing solutions to the many challenges we face, and I believe that we should vote for Ted as he will do just that,” Bush added.

Bush’s endorsement follows Cruz’s win in Tuesday’s Utah caucuses, where he won all 40 of the state’s delegates.

It’s as valid as any source out there. Sundance won an award for his investigation of the Treyvon Martin problem.

Cruz reverses support for TPA trade bill, blasts GOP leaders

Ted Cruz is reversing his position on a major trade bill, calling it a “corrupt” backdoor deal between Republican leaders and the White House.

The Texas firebrand and Republican 2016 presidential hopeful had been a vocal supporter of trade legislation, even co-authoring a Wall Street Journal op-ed in April saying that the fast-track bill, known as Trade Promotion Authority, is a “fair deal” for the American worker. In May, he voted to advance the TPA bill, which also included a worker aid package favored by Democrats.

But just hours before a decisive Tuesday vote, Cruz is changing his tune. He says he will vote to block the TPA bill, citing a series of deals between Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Democrats — namely over an unrelated issue dealing with the Export-Import Bank. He also contends that a separate trade deal being worked out by Obama could change immigration laws and not give Congress a say.

In a fiery op-ed on the conservative Breitbart website, Cruz lashes Obama and GOP leaders, saying the American people “do not trust” them.

“Enough is enough,” Cruz said. “I cannot vote for TPA unless McConnell and Boehner both commit publicly to allow the Ex-Im Bank to expire—and stay expired.”

The announcement is significant because free-trade proponents have no margin for error. They cannot lose more than three Senate votes from last May on the procedural motion to end debate on the TPA bill. If they do, the fast-track bill could die — and with it, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the most sweeping trade bill in history.

“Why does Republican Leadership always give in to the Democrats? Why does Leadership always disregard the promises made to the conservative grassroots?” he wrote

Jeb Bush endorses Cruz as a ‘consistent, principled conservative’

There is that word,Conservative” again. It has been so abused it is meaningless. We have seen what,”Conservatives” do and it isn’t anywhere near what Conservatism used to mean. In today’s world it is simply something for a useless politician to hide behind.

Cruz and Ryan wrote an op-ed in support of TPA.

Cruz only changed his vote when it would pass without his vote. The deal was done.

We're watching the continued coalescing of Republicans around Cruz.<\i>

The GOP establishment are not coalescing around Ted Cruz. They are taking over his campaign. He sold out for 30 pieces of silver. Sold his soul. Sold out conservatism. Sold out the country.

‘As much as I like Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush’s endorsement is the Kiss of Death. Ted hasn’t done himself any good with these Establishment RINO endorsements, IMHO.’

Cruz was told he would have to kiss the ring, in order to get back in the GOPe’s good graces. Every time Cruz gets a full bore Establishment endorsement, he has to gratefully thank the GOPer in public. That is kissing the ring. It’s total humiliation, but Cruz will do anything to stay in the race at this point.

Well, an endorsement from Jeb! is all I need to know about whether or not I should vote for Cruz: HELL NO, I won’t vote for Cruz!

Ted Cruz is morphing into an Establishment Republican tool right before our eyes. NO THANKS.

Bush, a part of the establishment who hates Cruz and says he’s in it only for himself, calls him “principled”. That’s just sickening. How in the hell can Cruzbots keep supporting this guy. Are they the ones who vote republican every year because they’re blind as bats and gullible as hell?

“We won’t screw you this time. We promise.”

“Okay. We believe you.”

Cruz needs something close to 90% of remaining delegates to win the nomination outright. You know as well as I do that isn't going to happen, especially not with states like Pennsylvania and New York coming up. Therefore, all Cruz can really accomplish is giving the RNC the brokered convention that it wants. And only an idiot thinks Cruz will be nominated in a brokered convention.

So what you're really doing is cheering the likely nomination of Bush, Romney, Ryan, etc.

Yes, I know that, but folks seem to find the fallacy in his NBC standing more quickly since he allowed himself to be allied with another Country for so long. You are exactly right and it is astounding to me that the powerful minds all around let this simple fact escape them!

Cruz and the wife have been open border, high level GOPe Bushies for 20 years. I am just surprised it took JEB! so long. Once Cruz hired Neil Bush it was only a matter of time.
