Cruz: Trump's attack on my wife shows his character
Politico ^ | March 23, 2016 | Eliza Collins

Ted Cruz attacked Donald Trump’s character for threatening his wife on Tuesday and blamed his opponent's attack on “a very bad night” in Utah.

“If Donald wants to get in a character fight he's better off sticking with me, because Heidi is way out of his league,” Cruz said on CNN’s “New Day,” responding to a late-night tweet from Trump warning, "Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

The attack reveals a lot about Trump's character, Cruz said. "That should be beneath Donald," he said. "The reason he's doing that is because he had a very bad night last night. He got clobbered in Utah."

Trump’s tweet — which began with “Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad" — is an apparent reference to an online ad by anti-Trump super PAC Make America Awesome, which used a photo of Trump’s wife Melania posing nude in British GQ in 2000 in an attempt to sway conservative Mormon voters.

Cruz responded via Twitter shortly after: "Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you're more of a coward than I thought. #classless.”

On CNN, host Chris Cuomo asked the Texas senator if engaging with Trump was a good idea.

"The tweet he was unhappy about was not even a super PAC supporting me. It is an independent group. I don’t know them,” Cruz said. "When Donald gets scared, when he gets angry, when he gets threatened ... So last night Donald threatened my wife, he went directly after my wife."

Cruz also ratcheted up his pressure on John Kasich, who fared poorly in Tuesday's contests, to get out of the race, repeatedly calling the Ohio governor a “spoiler.”

Cruz "character":

1. Phony summonses mailed out, scaring people to vote for Cruz.

2. Claiming Carson quit, presinc captains told voters "vote for Cruz"

3. Campaigning in the 800 churches, showing video "vote for me" with his preacher/father stomping for him. Rafael Cruz is a Seven Mountain Dominionist and believes his son is the anointed one.

4. "Brilliant" lawyer, did not know he was Canadian citizen and that he is not Natural Born Citizen, not eligible for office of P or VP.

5. Making phony video advertising with lies about opponents.

Just enough to beat Trump in IA, apologize, rinse and repeat?
Liar is the polite term for this Cuban. His father was pro-communist in Cuba, imprisoned by Batista, but now he is refugee?

IRREFUTABLE AUTHORITY HAS SPOKEN

(Oct. 18, 2009) The Post & Email has in several articles mentioned that the Supreme Court of the United States has given the definition of what a "natural born citizen" is. Since being a natural born citizen is an objective qualification and requirement of office for the U.S. President (and VP), it is important for all U.S. Citizens to understand what this term means.

I got a cancer diagnosis and went and sat in my car not in traffic. What the hell happened to her I wonder.

“That game is a fail, It was in his name and he did not disavow it in anyway. He ratified it and owns it.”

Has Trump “disavowed” the FR postings that are calling for blacklists, gulags, hunting down of Cruz supporters? Why not? FR’s size is about 1,000,000 times bigger than the PAC that tweeted this pic, so he should be responsible for FR’s postings or “tweets.”

Or we could go back to being sane people and understand that a PAC that has spent $18K and has had 7 people donate is meaningless. It is very reasonable to think that NO candidate has any view or alignment with them.

But that would require fortitude, integrity, searching out facts and many other conservative principles....

Instead, let’s just call someone a liar!

“Even Cruz shill Rush says Cruz can never win just pandering to his narrow base but it’s all Cruz has got.”

Now I know you’ve got the political knowledge depth of a kiddie pool.

Rush has gone all in for Trump. He...like you...defends EVERYTHING Trump does and explains away every trump gaffe.

Go have another drink of the Trump flavored kool-aid.

Well, we’ll talk after the primary is over. I know you have to uphold your candidate.

In the meantime, let’s begin to focus on beating Clinton.

I assume that Bill Clinton will be first lady for the Hildebeast. I think Trump hit the right way to attack over this one: Clinton was an enabler for Bill. She knew it was happening I never spoke up.

You are such an idiot. And from Texas. That’s sad. But, it shows there are plenty of idiots in Texas just like any other Bush supporting state.

You must be proud. Which candidate wife will be smeared today with your approval?

You must be even prouder. An independent PAC tried to smear Trump's wife. Trump threatened to smear Cruz's wife personally.
You bots are worse than DU.

If you want to focus on beathing Hillary...you should support the GOP candidate that actually beats her head to head...not the one that loses to her.

>> Trump shoots from the hip and seeks attention <<

Absolutely. And have you noticed how often Mr. Trump has caused some kind of ruckus on a Friday evening, so as to dominate the news cycle over the weekend?

By the way, there's no primary or caucus next week, so maybe we won't see a Trumpian Outrage this Friday. But maybe we should look for some kind of bombshell on Friday of next week. Then on the following Sunday's talk shows, the smoke just created by Mr. Trump may effectively block news and commentary favorable to Cruz.

I’m not understanding the numbers coming out of Utah. They showed something like 118,000 for Cruz, and around 20,000 each for Trump and Kasich. How many registered Republicans are in that state? Was the non-participation rate that high? Something’s not right.

Utah is a caucus state, which generally have somewhat lower participation rates.

172K voted in Utah, which has a population of 3 million.

524K voted in Arizona, which has a population of 7 million.

The remaining states are all primary states.

Cruz is a sniveling Harvard preppie. He allows Trump’s wife to be attacked in his name then complains when the favor is returned. Cruz can dish childish level nonsense but he can’t take an adult hit in return.

Cruz is a glass jaw politician.

CRUZ STARTED IT by allowing the attack on Trump’s wife.

He almost certainly didn't have prior knowledge of the ad, as his statement suggests. I know about this sort of stuff because I was once involved in an independent campaign against a Democrat Senator of which the Republican candidate was unaware.
