No doubt ISIS will morph into something else, that something else could - with nuclear weapons - be an existential threat.

ISIS will not attack America until after their leader is out of office.
Ultimately, ISIS is probably not an existential threat to the US. That doesn’t mean they are not a threat to the existence of many around the world who could be victimized by ISIS-instigated or ISIS-inspired terrorist attacks. Ultimately, Hitler was not an existential threat to the US either.
He’s just saying he has confidence in the SS for his personal wellbeing. That’s all.
Well, Obama can say whatever he wants, but since he referred to ISIS as the Jr. Varsity, the history of the last two years is pretty clear itself.
ISIS declared its Islamic Caliphate in Syria and Iraq in the Spring of 2014.
Their military operations are now occurring in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and Afghanistan.
Their terror attacks a far more wide spread than that.
Since announcing their Caliphate, in the Mid-East and North Africa, outside of their military operations, there have been 43 ISIS terror attacks, killing over 1,000 and injuring over 1,500
Since announcing their Caliphate, in Europe there have been 12 separate ISIS attacks killing over 200 people and injuring well over 600.
Since announcing their Caliphate in North America there have been 6 separate ISIS terror attacks killing 16 and injuring 30.
Since announcing their Caliphate in Asia and Australia there have been 9 separate ISIS terror attacks killing 45 and injuring over 200.
So, over the last two years, there have been 70 separate ISIS terror attacks in twenty different countries, that have killed over 1,200 people and wounded over 2,500. And this is just ISIS, and does not include Al Queada, Boka-Haram, etc.
