The National Enquirer on Friday reported that Ted Cruz has had multiple trysts with women who aren't the one he described as "the love of my life," wife Heidi Cruz.
"It is garbage, complete & utter lies. It is a tabloid smear and it has come from Donald Trump and his henchmen," the Texas senator told reporters on Friday

Another alleged "mistress," former Cruz communications director Amanda Carpenter, was asked about the report on CNN.
"Talk to my lawyer," she said.

So the rumors have been around for some time, at least a month, perhaps more, and I daresay the Cruz camp has been aware of their existence and has had time to prepare their response. While I certainly agree about being prepared, I would think Cruz's people have had some sort of contingency plan waiting in the wings based on what info has been available. If not, they should be canned.
Not that it really matters to trump fans, but I thought it should be said.
How is it you gotta be an a$$hat about it? Is that inherent in Cruzers, or what? While I'm definitely a Trump supporter, the fact is that I stated previously that I hope for Cruz, and his family, that this isn't true. And if it is indeed a lie, then it should hurt Trump and help Cruz in the long run. I would be ok with that.

It was the Rubio campaign and the StopTrump folks that put out the information. For your edification go to twitter in search enter #TheThing scroll down to March 10-13 and read the comments hidden among the others. It was planned to be released prior to Super Tuesday to help Rubio by taking Cruz down a notch or two. Everyone was anticipating the story then.
So her only denial is “it’s categrically false”. What does she mean by categorically - that she didn’t have an affair with Cruz - because that isn’t really what she said.

Yah know, the National Enquirer probably spends half it's budget on anti slander lawyers, and vets it's stories WAY more than the regular media.

The key is NE went with 5 when just 1 would have done the 'trick'. Why's that? You don't over commit in poker unless you are 100% sure you have the hand.
NE has this dead to rights. If they didn't, then Ted would take the entire publication as judgment from his victorious libel lawsuit.

Cruz had to know the story was coming out. Why did he poke the bear with the Melania ad - was it for diversion? Did he think now is the time to get this over with so it could hopefully be “old news”?

This ‘story’ has its start with Rick Wilson, pro-Rubio anti-Trump GOPe consultant.
He was on twitter for months talking about something called THE THING. Many thought THE THING was about Trump, possibly a sex or business scandal...

After Rubio drops out all talk of THE THING is hushed... Until this week when it all drops.
Trump has about as much to do with this scandal as Ted Cruz does with with the Liz Mair Melania attack ad. Liz Mair by the way is one of Rick Wilson’s buddies, and the two of them were part of the first anti-Trump Pac...
GOPe gonna GOPe, they’re playing Cruz and Trump forces like a damned fiddle right now.
So a story people have known about for months, and being sat on by media outlets, is Trump’s fault for coming out?
