BREAKING: Nathan Deal will veto Georgia’s ‘religious liberty’ bill
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 3/28/16 | Greg Bluestein

Gov. Nathan Deal said he will veto the “religious liberty” bill that triggered a wave of criticism from gay rights groups and business leaders and presented him with one of the most consequential challenges he’s faced since his election to Georgia’s top office.

The measure “doesn’t reflect the character of our state or the character of its people,” the governor said Monday in prepared remarks. He said state legislators should leave freedom of religion and freedom of speech to the U.S. Constitution.

I think someone needs to sue a Muslim business on the same grounds as the Christian businesses which have been sued, just to smoke out and hold up for all to see, the hypocrisy of the left.

I think the threat of the NFL not allowing Atlanta’s new stadium to hold the Super Bowl in 2020—with its nearly US$1.7 billion positive effect on the local economy—had something to do with it.

This nation was blessed from the beginning because it was a Christian nation (no matter how many lies Hussein tells to the contrary). Now that we've gone full-bore depraved, we will be judged, lose our blessing, and God's hand will be lifted from over us.

Alexis de Tocqueville said it best-
“America is great because America is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.”

Wouldn’t matter who threatened what. Could just as easily have been Disney or Coca-Cola or anybody at all who dangles money in front of these people.

Here's what the article says about the vote:
It takes a three-fifth majority in both chambers to call a special session, and a two-thirds majority in both chambers to override a veto — a threshold the bill failed to reach by one vote in the Senate and 16 in the House.

That is just sick, and demonic, for him to say such a blasphemous thing. We are all born in original sin, and with “besetting” sins, such as some are more prone to lying, some to stealing, some to violence, some to a proclivity to pedophilia. That doesn’t make these things any less sin, much less a “gift from God”, when God in His Own Word called homosexuality an abomination.

It was bad enough that people did these things, but at least in the past they were recognised as sin, including by the sinner. Now these people are adding brazen rebellion, lies, and unapologetic blasphemy to their other sin.

How dare they call their sin a “gift from God”, when God Himself calls it abomination?

They may as well have “murderers’ pride” parades, and call that a “gift from God”.

That’s why Arizona Governor Jan Brewer vetoed a somewhat similar law a few years ago—the NFL had threatened to take the Super Bowl away from Glendale, AZ. And there is historical precedent: the NFL took the Super Bowl away from Phoenix when it did not pass the Martin Luther King holiday observance back in the early 1990’s.

That,s a special session request.not a veto override

Can a veto override be brought up next general session.

I think the Governor may have talked with the Board of Directors at the Coca-Cola Company (who is based in Atlanta) to reach that decision, too. The threat of a boycott of Coca-Cola products over this new law could have hugely negative effects on that company.

Nathan Deal is obviously going to hell, but it’s very curious why so many businesses are pushing the gay Leftist agenda. Do they not realize that they would be taxed for 100% of their income if the liberals had their way, and that endorsing sodomy will not convince the liberals to back off? Why side with the liberals so staunchly over the sodomite issue?

I know I will not be shopping at Home Depot nor Coca Cola.

I will not fly American Airlines and I won't go to Disney.

This is the same guy who endorsed serial-adulterer Gingrich. There’s nothing Christian or conservative about him. Pathetic.

I would hate to be Deal when he comes before the Judgment Seat of Christ. I’ll be praying that at least the legislature will do the right thing.

It seems that the politician who fears God and not man these days is nonexistent. Anyway, our hope should always be in God alone, and He’s still on His throne. And one day He will overturn all the evil in the world and make everything right.

Anyway, folks, let’s all keep praying that the GA legislature will do the right thing and that God will give them courage and boldness to stand for the truth.

It has been a long long time since Christians have been persecuted as they are now...

That is because our mother’s and grandmother’s taught us to be polite. We were to treat the fellow on the street as if he were your next door neighbor. That was 55 years ago when I was a young fellow. Not any longer mind you. We could go to bed back then with only a screen door latched on the front and rear of the house. No solid door shut at night during the summer. My home did not have a lock on the front door until after my father died and we put one on for my mom. But, today, I have an alarm, several weapons, to keep my home safe. When I was a kid growing up on our street, there was 12 house on the block. 8 of those houses were family of some sort. We watched out for each other. The world today sucks. I actually do miss the old days. Back when people were decent and not a bunch of ass holes.
