Oh, my. Special Rules For Special People - there never has been a tinpot despotism yet that didn't feature that one. And who are Special People? Why, the political class, of course, especially its newest adjunct, the Journalistic Class, senior union officials, and an entire list of Protected Classes - they're actually shameless enough to name them that these days. I'm convinced we're living in a novel named Animal Farm.

Ok... let’s raise the bar we’ll forget about the US CONFIDENTIAL, US SECRET and only prosecute her for the release/storage of US TOP SECRET files on her “private server.”

She could sell secrets to the Chinese on national TV right before chopping up a little baby on live TV and the liberals would still defend her.

They do not care.

That is exactly the problem. The ruling class thinks that they no longer have to answer to the peasants.

I hereby declare my candidacy for President.

Be right back, I’m gonna go rob the nearest bank. They can’t prosecute me since I’m running for President.

On second thought. ... I don’t need to rob that bank. They will just give me the money, in return for a promise that I’ll support legislation favorable to them.

An open admission that there is no equality under the law and encouragement of it by the press. If there is no rule of law for the elite they had better expect no respect for the law from the peons.

I will say this as a former prosecutor:

If I were the prosecutor overseeing an investigation like this, you’re damn right I’d set the bar high for the FBI. I would want to make absolutely certain every single possible loophole will be closed and that the evidence is air tight. I would insist on having an unbeatable case before I convened a grand jury.

Clinton has money in large quantities. She can hire the best criminal defense attorneys. There is a fair chance the District Court judge was appointed by her husband, or has eyes on an Appellate Court appointment that President Hillary Clinton could confer. She has the major media squarely in her corner. She knows many influential people who could wreck a U.S. Attorney’s career. Heck, you could wind up committing suicide by shooting yourself in the back of the head three times.

Yeah, if you really want her indicted, convicted and sentenced to prison, you’d damn well want that bar set high.

At one time there was the concept of common law that applied to ALL persons, regardless of status.

What would he say if Hillary was a Republican?

It’s a really low bar to hurdle when many of her public statements clearly indicate she broke the “Public Records Act of 1950” and is ineligible to hold public office. Start there - forget about Colin Powell or others, forget about secret-classified-top secret, or confidential. SHE STORED PUBLIC RECORDS and failed to “take care” that they were properly stored, and shielded her official correspondence from public view or FOIA requests. PERIOD. Start there!

“I’m sure he would feel the same way if it were a Republican /s”

If this were a Republican they would have long since been thrown in prison just on account of the “seriousness of the charges”.

No. She will not be prosecuted because the “justice” department is under the rule of her former boss, and will not let them prosecute her.

Powerful people don’t have to follow the same rules and laws as normal people.

Your point is well taken. That is probably the very reason the FBI has taken over a year on this investigation and added 150 agents to the case a few months ago.

That said, I suspect the MSNBC guest was thinking more about how speshul Hitlery is than how important an airtight case is to the prosecutors.

” there should be a higher bar to bring charges against Hillary Clinton because she is running for president”

Well, of course! That’s because some pigs are more equal than other pigs.

"MSNBC Guest Argues It’s a ‘Higher Bar’ to Prosecute Clinton Because She’s Running for President"

Is the entire government now full of criminals trying to escape the law?

Of course PMSNBC meant that Hillary Clinton is above the law. But I did want to give another perspective on setting a higher bar, and why I think it ought to be demanded in this investigation.
