Did you say "dodge" ? Gee I thought Teddy was the "perfect" Anti-abortionist?

"Watch Ted Cruz Dodge the Abortion Criminalization Question"

by Sam Reisman | 5:31 pm, March 30th, 2016

Sen. Ted Cruz was more deft in his handling of a question about abortion criminalization than Donald Trump.

Trump once again hijacked the news cycle with some incendiary remarks Wednesday, telling MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that there should be “some punishment” for women who get an abortion.

Cruz was able to dodge a question on the subject at the Jan. 2015 Iowa Freedom Summit, two months before he declared his candidacy for president. A reporter asked Cruz if doctors or women seeking abortions should be prosecuted, in the event that abortion becomes illegal.

Cruz averred his anti-abortion stance, but dodged the question twice. Check out the clip from C-SPAN above."

Trump is the most available outspoken unguarded pol I have ever seen. He has been shockingly so. He even has outbursts on twitter.

I will grant he does not let himself be constantly on the defensive over attempted scandals that the press generates. And when being forward about them, he may make mistakes most people would make in such a case, if they are not careful to talk in lawyer-ease. But I think that is pretty cool and refreshing.

But think about this. The reporter's version of events was more wrong than Corey's. I am not saying either lied. This is normally what happens when you ask eye witnesses about things and they are forward and honest. They get facts wrong.

The fact Corey got wrong was quite plausibly due to confusion and haze about events. He knew he had not attacked anybody or roughed anybody up, so when asked about its not surprising he said "I never touched her". Can't remember everybody guide out of my way or out of the secret service and Trumps way he goes through a throng, which he likely does a lot, probably when thinking about stuff that is actually not ridiculous like the possibility of being blatantly falsely accused of battery. Its absurd to conclude he is a scoundrel or lying.

The characterization the reporter got wrong had to be dishonest on some level Not saying she made a conscious decision to lie. She may just be the kind of person who exaggerates in order to induce pity as a developed character trait. As for Corey its natural being falsely accused of attacking someone you might be curious to find if they had such a habit, and go figure she does....

Gas-lighting? Yeah, there is some of that going on, but not from Trump.

Thanks DoughtyOne —

It takes a mighty big person to express what you did. Thank you.

Federal judges have given me pretty thick skin over the years; sometimes justified, sometimes not. Like you, I do my best not to respond impulsively - but I do too.

I wish only good things for you, my FRiend.

So many Trump derangement threads...so little time.

His supporters are manic in the way only the seriously disturbed can be.

I will put it this way, Trump is not slick, he is not a lawyer, he is used to, in his own business, of giving answers and is not afraid to say that he doesn’t know yet or have an opinion on something.

Cruz, like Hillary, Obama, Rubio, BJ Clinton, Chris Christie, etc are highly trained lawyers, they are trained to not answer questions. I have seen it where Trump says more in 20 seconds then the above listed group in 2 hours.

Yeah Trump is the most WYSIWYG candidate in our lifetime. The lawyers you listed are mostly snakes and sneaks.

The play focuses on an abusive husband in the 1880s who convinces his wife that she is going crazy.

Interesting method of accusing Trump of domestic violence. When did this author stop making false accusations? Inquiring minds want to know.

He turned the great brown hope of the GOP into George Lopez tossing out one-liners while destroying his presidential hopes

Marco Rubio ran on a tea-party ticket and then cowed to Boehner. Also if Rubio can't take a few insults, what is he going to do when terrorists insult him?

He made Jeb Bush, the scion of a great conservative family, look small.

Jeb Bush was running on a platform of "It's my turn. If criticized, my mother will support me."

He took the mighty Chris Christie who can tame angry New Jersey protesters and made him a teddy bear sidekick.

If Christie can do that and Trump can over power him, what will happen to ISIS?

In Hamilton’s play, there is a detective called Detective Rough. He takes a dim view of the abusive husband’s explanations. He thinks the poor woman is being taken for a ride. And he works diligently to find out exactly how. He tries to figure out what the abuser has to gain. And he finds something.

I think America is being taken for a ride by people who should not be in office. Donald Trump is exposing how. The Republican party keeps running weak candidates who can't take a couple of punches. The Democrats have been able to walk all over the Republicans, but if they receive a couple counter punches, they go away too.

This moment occurs every time Trump is interviewed. At a certain point the anchor gives up. So what if he’s lying and we know it. We have to get along here. And maybe I’ll look like I’m a bully, like that Megyn Kelly, if I press it too hard.

If journalists were willing to run half honest investigations, I'd have more sympathy.

In the play, Detective Rough eventually discovers that there are illicit riches in the couple’s attic.

Like how there are riches to be made in America by exporting jobs, importing people to take the jobs that are here, and exploit high school students by telling them that college will give them a leg up in life and then charge lots of money for the privilege of going to college.

I agree with many of your comments. I still can’t get my arms around the author’s statement that the Bush family is Conservative.

Yes, journalists seem to be more about their own stature, and not that of the story. It’s as if they all want to do a selfie, and be the “star” instead of a journalist.

America is being taken for a ride, as you write. Trump exposes much of what is wrong. But, I’m just not sure he is the one to right the ship. I’m not sold on any candidate. I think we (as a country) should be able to do better than what is offered. I look at strong personalities in law enforcement and/or the military, and believe that we need a strong, leader that knows his/her limitations. The President will most likely be hamstrung by Congress until there is a massive purge.

Thanks for your reasoned response.

Snore. Think we are both voting for the same candidate. You’re just the loser who posted a photo from a Klan Twitter account. Are you a dupe or an actual klansman?

This blog is operated by people who are almost all Cruz supporters, so naturally whatever they write will tend to favor their guy in a snarky, condescending way.

Naturally, it’s not worth reading for that reason, and whatever the subject is, I may never know.
