“I have no idea why people think that the scenario in this article is some kind of trick”
I have no idea how anyone here can sit with a straight face and just shrug their shoulders and say “not a big deal”.
Perhaps because this has been the process for a very long time. If Trump couldn't be bothered to find out how the delegate selection process worked, how it could affect him and be prepared for it, that says more about him than it does about the party or about Cruz.
Who said it’s not a big deal? I didn’t. It is certainly a big deal, because it emphasizes the importance of having an organization in each state that can get people out and into positions where they can be chosen as delegates. If the convention happens and Trump has 1150 delegates, Cruz has 850, and Kasich 250, with other delegates still pledged to the candidates who have dropped out, then on the first ballot nobody wins. What good is it, at that point, to have another round of voting if all of the candidates are going to vote for the same candidates again? You’d end up with the same result.
