In recent weeks, there has been increasing discussion about the possibility that House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)56% could emerge out of a brokered convention as the Republican nominee if the donor class is successful in denying Donald Trump the requisite 1,237 delegates.
Just as Paul Ryans ascension to House Speaker represented a total repudiation of the GOP electorate by GOP lawmakers, Ryans selection as the Partys nominee would similarly represent the donor classs silencing of voters and voters views on immigration, trade, and foreign policy that have transformed the country and its role in the world.

Although Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97%s political ideology is in line with Ryans brand of Washington think-tank conservatismwhether its Cruzs record of pushing for expanded foreign worker programs or offshoring trade policiesparty leaders seem to prefer Paul Ryans presentation, and are likely to use Cruzs gains to ultimately throw delegates towards Ryan. The media is correct in that voters are currently facing an election between Trump and anti-Trump, but the media has failed to articulate the policies differences between them.

Do it and watch the Republican Party die outright.
We can only hope that enough Cruz supporters who were looking for an outsider WAKE UP and understand that the only way that happens is if Trump has a majority of delegates on the first ballot.
How Dare Cruz try to win the Presidential primary.
This "Ted Cruz setting up Paul Ryan as the Presidential nominee" is nothing more than an unfounded Conspiracy Theory.
Read the whole article ..... Ryan is unacceptable to me.
I hear Rand Paul is thinking of putting his name in the hat. ;-)
We need another candidate. But not Ryan. We need someone who will secure the border. The picking seem to be slim but Rand Paul and John Thune are the only possibilities that I can find who by their record shows they could do that. Paul has an A grade from Numbers USA and Thune has a respectable B.
What the ????
We don’t need another candidate....we have a perfectly fine candidate that is actually LEADING in votes and delegate count.
Trump also happens to be the ONLY REASON that amnesty/wall/illegals are even being discussed, during this election season.
Pander Paul has an A grade from Numbers USA? Big whoop. He’s also ANOTHER PAC paid politician.
No thanks!!
The bottom line on Ryan/Cruz is simple: Ever since their close cooperation and joint lobbying effort for TPA, Cruz and Ryan are a team.
Remember the Freedom Caucus was formed in the House as a bridge between Cruz and “conservative” congressmen. That same Freedom Caucus installed Ryan as Speaker.
Right now Cruz needs about 85% of the remaining delegates to win. In a couple of weeks, that will be over 100%. Kasich already needs over 100% of the remaining delegates to win. If Cruz continues to stay in the race, how much longer will it take before conspiracy theory becomes conspiracy fact?
This idea that Paul Ryan is going to try to get the nomination just supports my belief that Trump and his supporters do not have a firm grip on reality.
“How Dare Cruz try to win the Presidential primary. “
Particularly when the mob wants to rule without regard for rules that have been overlooked or ignored by trump and his staff
1# Ted can only get the nomination at a ‘Brokered’ convention.
2# At the ‘Brokered’ convention, the GOPe will never give the nomination to Cruz.
3# Therefore a vote for Cruz, is a vote for the GOPe.
What makes you think Trump supporters would forsake him for another candidate?
Trump has support now, and that support isn’t going to be transferred to someone else.
You folks need to get that through your thick heads.
I’m beginning to think the republican party is already dead, and is now just going through the motions of being a political party in a two party system. One party rule is the Soviet system. You’re not going to get a secure border. You’re not going to get what you want. All of the decisions will be made by the politburo.
He simply has been unable to convince enough republicans to vote for him.
Cruz needs nearly every available delegate to win with 1,237. He can lose 35 delegates between now and the convention - mathematically impossible.
Cruz is merely there to ensure a contested convention, and for any of his supporters to state otherwise is pure delusion.
There are no other candidates available for this election. It is either Trump, or whomever the GOPe selects at the convention. We cannot go to the convention and force a conservative candidate, that's just not going to happen.
The only other option is to primary as many RINOs as possible, and get them registered before the convention. The primaries may not be before the convention, but the threat to their careers will hang over the convention while they vote.
And that is exactly why the GOPe and the Democrat party are so against his becoming POTUS. The cheap labor express and the everlasting Democrat vote is threatened.
