Trump leaves the conservative establishment arrogant and unmoored
Washington Post ^ | April 2, 2016 | Joe Scarborough

Posted on 04/04/2016 12:30:11 AM PDT by detective

When members of Manhattan’s media elite come to Mark Halperin’s home for dinner, Halperin likes to ask his guests whether they have spent more time in Paris or Staten Island. More often than not, his guests select the destination that does not offer regular ferry service from Battery Park.

Halperin’s dinner quiz provides a glimpse into what conservatives have long mocked as the cloistered existence of liberal elites who report on a nation they don’t understand. Republican critics have long complained that these media elites are schooled, spend their summers and live most of their lives in urbane enclaves that provide little insight into how the rest of America lives.

But in 2016, conservative commentators are sounding as cocooned from their own political party as any liberal writing social commentary for the New Yorker or providing political analysis for ABC News. Even after the passing of Antonin Scalia and the Paris and San Bernadino, Calif., attacks, many right-leaning pundits are spending their days scolding readers and declaring that no true conservative or God-fearing Christian could support Donald Trump. This simmering rage has now risen to such a level that many conservative opinion shapers are spending their waking hours coping with a festering Zapruder-like obsession over video frames of the Corey Lewandowski-Michelle Fields confrontation while obsessing over the GOP front-runner’s latest embarrassing gaffe.

They would like f...t Paris better than Blue/White Collar conservative Staten Island.

Well...they don’t hate liberals. However they may disagree with them while sharing some pâté and a nice bottle of wine.

Did you see this quote?

"But now these voters, formerly called common-sense conservatives, are considered drug-addled losers who are too stupid to determine what is in their best interest."

Yeah... That's how its been alright. GOPe, go F--yourselves!

“Middle class conservative” is what the elites would call a “redneck”, while delicately wiping the Golden Ossetra from the corners of their mouths and reaching for another sip of Chateau Margaux.

Unfortunately, there have been calls for a Trump dictatorship right here on FR. When people read that what are they to conclude?

If they have any sense they will recognize it as propaganda worthy of Herr Goebels being spread by Trump haters.

I have nothing against Staten Island but most New Yorkers who live in Manhattan have very little reason to go there unless the bridge and tunnels that eventually lead to the Jersey Shore are shut down. That’s when we take the Verrazano into SI on some occasions.

Better Halperin should ask if his guests ever visit Queens, the Bronx or parts of Jersey.

Better yet, don’t even bother asking a silly question.

Bingo. It only took 8 posts for someone to point that out. If the establishment were conservative, then most likely we wouldn't be having these problems with them in the first place.

And many Trump haters are so blinded by the slime dripping in their eyes that they see what they want to see.
No dictatorship is wanted by Trump supporters just a major change in Washington with the only candidate possible in 2016.

Some people think that 'Republican' and Conservative' are interchangeable terms. Usually it's said by someone who either doesn't know any better or someone with a hard-left agenda.

The term conservative establishment is a misnomer.
Can we all them the ‘preservative establishment’— preserving their own hineys and perks of the DC gravy train.

A lot of Trump voters have failed at life and blame others for their own poor decisions. They’re using Trump as a vehicle for revenge. Erick Erickson (@EWErickson) April 1, 2016

One of the most disgusting things that I have read...in a vast sea of recent crap. This worthless POS, who has done NOTHING "useful" in his life, has the gall to denigrate millions of Americans.

Those of us who are now 40-55 years old have been seriously "screwed." Our so-called "prime earning years" were taken away by the horrible recession, the subsequent non-recovery, outsourcing of tech jobs, importing of tech workers, etc....and that's just speaking for those of us with higher education...we have simply been treading water for a decade.

The entire lower part of the middle class has nearly disappeared entirely; good jobs replaced with both parents working part time and STILL not making ends meet.

Middle Class 18-25 year-olds have no idea what to do as far as a career/education as most majors lead to dead-end jobs at this point.

Erickson is a fat piece of SHIT, who has never done a useful thing in his life and routinely cavorts with and admires Democrat strategists in his private life (look it up). He spent his formative years out of the US by the way...yet he has the temerity to throw actual Americans under the bus for complaining about the fact that the Country is circling the drain.

Of course, he is a rabid "Reformed/Calvinist" evangelical. For those of you who do not know, that is the group that entirely owns the Iowa Caucus..once again this group of loons has thrown the entire election into chaos by launching the unelectable Cruz into viability. They are the most nasty, self-righteous, insular group of freaks that you will ever see...Erickson is a perfect example.

Like others similar, I'm sure he will be surprised on judgement day at the actual locale of his "predestination."

That was a nice way to tell him to "Go to Hell"....am I right?
