Top Republicans believe Paul Ryan will be nominee
Washington Post ^ | 4/4/16 | Mike Allen

On the eve of the Wisconsin primaries, top Republicans are becoming increasingly vocal about their long-held belief that Speaker Paul Ryan will wind up as the nominee, perhaps on the fourth ballot at a chaotic Cleveland convention.

One of the nation’s best-wired Republicans, with an enviable prediction record for this cycle, sees a 60 percent chance of a convention deadlock and a 90 percent chance that delegates turn to Ryan — ergo, a 54 percent chance that Ryan, who’ll start the third week of July as chairman of the Republican National Convention, will end it as the nominee.

Here’s the deal, GOPe. You’ve got nothing to offer me. You oppose or subvert everything I want done in DC. If you defeat the will of the GOP voters I will be happy to vote in opposition to your annointed candidate. If that means voting 3rd party for Trump vs. ‘Rat Hillary and Weasel Ryan, so be it.

If Ryan is the nominee, I will vote a straight Democrat ticket.

The experts have seen the huge public demand for Ryan.
They’ve just had some kind of mushroom and their minds are moving low. A hookah smoking caterpillar has given Ryan the call.

Cruz is being used to block Trump. He doesn’t understand he’ll NEVER be in their club.

Trump supporters say Cruz is GOPe and then say he will never be in their club. Both can't be true.

Cruz has never been establishment and fights them. He doesn't want to be in their club and I do not believe he will give up his principles to play their game.

The posted article is about Ryan as the GOPe pawn. If the nomination goes to anyone other than Cruz or Trump, the GOP is finished.

Doesn’t matter the if Cruz or Trumo is the nominee. Once you wade through all the crap being said, these are still the two best chances for us to take America back.

Trump will destroy the GOP elite machine if he is elected...It will be totally necessary to take America back...Do you really think this GOP elite machine would put all their resources together including the media to back Cruz if he was going to destroy their operation??? Absolutely not...Trump is the only chance we've got...

Not really, they would not have to flip as many as one would think, and they have millions of dollars to do that.

If they don't run with Cruz/Kasich/Rubio/Trump, tehyare starting at close to zero. John Ellis Bush had millions of dollars. It didn't get him far.

They want their power and connections intact for as long as possible so their personal wealth can benefit and that is the bottom line.

**************
Even as losers they still have ready access to a lot of valuable information and insiders who pull the levers of power in Washington. They can use their votes as a “medium of exchange”. So as long as they are on Capitol Hill they have something of value to trade that can enriche them in a personal way.

The GOPe strategy in primary situations has always been divide and conquer.

That’s partly behind the massive attempt to create a “Trump-Cruz War” here on FR.

This story from ‘inside the beltway’ is very plausible and it cries out for the selection of delegates who will not be suckered into playing games with the rules at the convention that would lead to the outcome described-a RINO nominee.

In PA we do get to vote for individual delegates in this ‘uncommitted’ list rigged to favor local GOPe politicians who are sprinkled into the lists and who usually win by virtue of name recognition.

Pennsylvania voters need to pick real outsiders in general and in particular the people that Donald Trump’s campaign recruited to run for delegates. People who will resist and or be immune to the tricks coming in Cleveland.

There’s an old maxim on Capitol Hill: “Its not what they say, its what they do.” Remember that.

The part he does not figure on is that they might lose the House and Senate too.

That is where they are the happiest...
