Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz was greeted with a standing ovation at a Milwaukee County GOP event Saturday and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was standing in for front-runner Donald Trump, was met with steely silence three days ahead of the state's crucial primary vote.

The Milwaukee County Republican Party Fish Fry proved fertile campaign ground for Cruz, who has become the vehicle for many establishment figures in their quest to deny Trump the party's nomination. Cruz used the event to make his first appearance with Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, whose endorsement he earned earlier this week.

First McCain and now Trump. She’s having a hard time convincing others she’s a conservative.

Normal crazy TRumpbot denial? The truth hurts. Sarah Palin is finished as far as the conservative movement is concerned. What a sad pathetic figure.

Just compare their ready to go dumping on Palin to how only a handful at best are even vocal about Cruz needing to dump Beck.

Cruz has already lost.

Wisconsin does not matter.

Even lyin’ Ted admits it and said he will not drop out even if it’s mathematically impossible for him to win.

I am a YUGE Trump supporter but I have nothing for Palin. I don’t know why he bothers with her. I know years ago people here really loved that woman!

“She’s having a hard time convincing others she’s a conservative.”

She went against the Cruzian groupthink.

Therefore “not conservative”.

Meanwhile the so-called real conservatives ignore all of the Gope cash and influence in the Cruz campaign.

Frankly anyone still supporting that guy at this point have a hard time convincing me that they are nothing more than Gope sell-out.

wow. Eight responses, I think. I will have to watch the video.

as for the guy who called me a Trumpbot.

Anyone who knows me knows I am voting for him but have certainly cut him very little slack.

But if it makes people feel better to use silly terms...

ah, she had more time in the spotlight than I did :)

I wonder if she does or will do paid gigs. I would imagine conservative (they exist!) colleges and companies would pay for her.

I watched Palin speech, it was good, the camera would from time to time focus on a few guys who were fidgeting, but most seemed to be listening. At the end of the speech, she got a standing ovation. I don’t call that a flop.

Probably doesn’t mean much, if anything. Sarah never was and never will be a favorite of the Republican grand poobahs who attend party fish fries. Cruz fits right in with the GOPe at whatever level: federal, state, or county.

He’s their boy, at least as long as he’s of use to them.

Turncoats and traitors are not highly regarding among the real conservative base. Palin went the way of Scott Brown.
Done.

Alas we have seen the best days of “THE BEER HUNTER” pass her by.

Thank God she endorsed Trumpman.

Thank God!

Jedi.

But the Media called it a “flop.” And that’s all that matters to the LIV’s and so-called “principled conservatives.”
