Trump In Full Meltdown Mode As Ted Cruz Wins The Wisconsin Republican Primary
PoliticusUSA ^ | April 5, 2016 | John Easley

Posted on 04/05/2016 11:03:52 PM PDT by kik5150

Ted Cruz was expected to win Wisconsin, but the surprise was how easily Cruz was able to defeat Donald Trump.

Wisconsin Republicans had mobilized against Donald Trump in a more unified way than had been visible in any previous contest. Trump has not done himself any favors with a week that was a textbook study in how to alienate voters.

Sarah Palin’s horrible appearance as a surrogate for Trump at a Milwaukee Republican event made it clear to one and all that Wisconsin was not going to be Trump country. Donald Trump’s campaign has always had a by the seat of the pants ad-libbed feel, but Trump’s winging it mentality came back to bite him in Wisconsin, where the state’s educated electorate showed no patience for Trump’s antics.

Make no mistake about it, Ted Cruz’s victory in Wisconsin was really a vote against Trump. The Never Trump Republican movement got a much-needed shot in the arm. Donald Trump is not unbeatable, nor is his nomination inevitable.

There are numerous reports of infighting within the Trump campaign, and Trump’s numerous flip-flops and gaffes have painted a picture of a wounded frontrunner. The loss in Wisconsin is only going to fan the flames of reports that Trump is a candidate on the verge of decline. Trump is wobbly, and the delegate math is now complicated. Coming out of Wisconsin, the notion that Donald Trump is destined to be the Republican nominee may have been dealt a death blow.

This why Trump can not be trusted to be POTUS. Every time something doesn’t go his way, every time he has a set back, he reacts like a 5 year old. Throws a tantrum, insults people, blames everyone and everything but himself.

Even his own daughter and wife have told him to grow up. He won’t listen.

I get why every Trump supporter is for him. We have taken it in the seat from Democrats and Republicans alike for a very long time now. Trump had a message the reasonated with the fed up voter. But that message is gone now. He is all about insults, tantrums and not very well thought out answers.

Not that long ago Trump had a solid lead in Wisconsin. He blew with his own behavior. The voters there chose Cruz because Cruz was the adult in the race, because Cruz was the conservative in the race. Also I think people are starting to see that Trump is selling them snake oil. They know he isn’t going to build a wall, or be able to do anything about the trade imbalance with China and Mexico. More and more people are seeing Trump as a braggart, a guy who is all talk and will say anything to get elected.

It’s going to be near impossible for Cruz to lock this up before the convention I know. But Trump isn’t going to do it either. It’s going to be a mess an July and I don’t know who our candidate is going to be.

Hillary is firmly in the driver seat in November unless we get a miracle unity candidate. But the GOPe will not let that happen.

They can’t ignore this headline right below their childish taunts and what will be a short lived victory:

Only Trump has a realistic path to a delegate majority.

If it’s not Trump, idc who wins the white house as Cruz is proving himself to be the same UNIPARTY scum as Clinton. I actually have more respect for the Socialist Sanders than Lying Ted since at least he’s honest.

The schadenfreude will be great when Cruz gets his Lying ass handed to him in state after state in the coming month. These Crucifiers will have many early nights in the next month.
And then worst case scenario is that DT is betrayed and has the right to go third party where he’ll win against Ryan and Clinton after the GOPee screws Lying Ted at the convention as well.
One things clear.. Cruz will never be President and everyone except a few mentally challenged sycophants know this.

I’m facing facts as they are, vs as I wish they were. The writer of that article is completely correct on almost every issue, mainly the way Donald is perceived by most of the public. I have already passed through the Anger and Denial and Bargaining stages. I’m ready to accept that while Donald has some great ideas, he will not be the one to lead us there from the office of the presidency. No. I’m seeing someone who has a strange habit of sabotaging himself again and again and again. Each time, wilder, stranger, or more vicious than the time before. Each time, staying off message.

He seems to have stopped even trying to communicate primarily through logic and cohesiveness of thought. I think the incredible pressures of nonstop campaigning have suddenly caught up with him. We, his fans have been forced to dwell on these issues of behavior and tone. Some Trump fans still don’t care. That is their choice, I cannot speak for anyone but myself. A month ago, I felt the same way. The author is correct about Sarah too, in this situation, not that I like having to say that. Sarah seems almost too strident in her language, and overwound up most of the time in this incarnation. She relies heavily on rhetoric and slightly out of date sound bites. In a few more weeks, Trump will either willingly pass the baton, or be voted out of influence anyway by Reince and Karls boys.

Agreed!

Sadly, Rush Limbaugh is pushing this same Bull sh*t narrative about Cruz!

Interesting that when Trump wins, Rush just doesn’t seem to see any significance to it. Heck, even the fact that Trump is almost 300 delegates ahead of Cruz doesn’t seem to impress El Rushbo. But when Cruz wins one state like Wisconsin, we’re lectured about it being a “turning point” and it has great significance.

Simply unbelievable!

Excuse me.

Trump needs to debate Cruz one on one.

But he’s Chick’n so he won’t.

He’ll get his butt handed to Himself. Believe me.

Trump is not man enough. He’s EVERYTHING HE HAS ACCUSED OTHERS OF BEING. You know the list.

And don’t give me this crap “They’ve already debated.” We both know that those debates were watered down entertainment venues. I’m talking about an issues debate, man to man.

This is called trying to squeeze every ounce of manufactured momentum out of what could be a final win for Cruz.

Every time something doesn't go his way, every time he has a set back, he reacts like a 5 year old. Throws a tantrum, insults people, blames everyone and everything but himself.

This is exactly why I can't stand with Trump. Plus his supporters tend to act the same way.

No thanks, I'll vote Cruz

Cruz has a very realistic path to a majority: 90%+ of the RNC, elected unpledged, Rubio, and Kasich delegates will support him AND it looks like a meaningful share of Trump’s pledged delegates will actually be Cruz delegates, voting his way in any rules or credentials battles as well as for him when free from their pledge.

RE:”Sarah Palin’s horrible appearance as a surrogate for Trump at a Milwaukee Republican event made it clear to one and all that Wisconsin was not going to be Trump country.”

That was another sidebar Breaking News thread subject here I commented to.

Palin attacking Cruz for praising a private charity that gave Teddy Bears to children of illegals caught being brought across the border.

It was disgusting, I pinged it asking if attacking dogs, tasing and macing children caught being brought here was what Trump supporters want a private charity to do .

WI fortunately saw it for what it was.

Trump can't win the Presidency without outside support.

Well, that is true, and it is equally true of Cruz. Where is Cruz going to get the votes outside his base of evangelical conservatives...which, to be generous, very, very generous, might amount to 20% of the electorate (and they are a cohort of the electorate that is actively despised my much of the rest of the electorate)?

Hell, socialism is far more popular in America today than evangelism...

Cruz “the adult” ? “The conservative’ ?

If you say so ! But i think that it’s plain wrong !
Cruz is only THE ESTABLISHMENT GUY who tries to look “adult” ( understand a liar as usual ) like Ryan , Romney , Mc Cain , Bush does with all the “reasonable” persons who want YOU to STFU and be a good nut or slave WHILE they keep doing their business and while they SELL USA and the free world .
Instead of that TRUMP is speaking to people who are FED UP with the big global mess and the liars throwing the american people under the bus and opening wide your borders .
TRUMP is the target of all the MSM and of the establishment and it’s pathetic to see that so-called “adult” like you are walking behind that . So let it be . Adults like that are boring and nauseating .

In addition , if the little cruz is a “conservative” it’s a STUPID conservative who is used by an establishment which is NOT CONSERVATIVE AT ALL . If cruz the little is conservative i am not conservative ....

You should stop trying to justify your bad choices because your “reasons” are bad . At least you could be a little bit more specific and articulate about “conservatism” and by confronting théory , words , to the facts ...
TRUMP instead is right to the points ( the important ones ) all the rest are details and you make chicanery like children in the schoolyard ....

Thank you it speaks loud
