A Quieted Donald Trump Quickly Turns on ‘Lyin’ Ted’
NY Slimes ^ | 4/5/16 | Maggie Haberman

Posted on 04/06/2016 2:41:19 AM PDT by markomalley

There was no news conference, there were no tweets. There was no steak, no wine, no bottled water.

And then, on what had been perhaps the quietest primary night of Donald J. Trump’s political career, there came an email flash. Just like that, “Lyin’ Ted” and the “Trojan horse” were back.

“Campaign statement,” read the email from Mr. Trump’s spokeswoman, Hope Hicks, delivered first to The Washington Post and then to others upon request.

Trump IS a proven liar - and bragged about it in a book.

So you believe an agency reporting to the current president should be in control of who will be allowed to run to be the next president, including his opponent for his second term?

Wow.

Reading the comments, one would think Trump won yesterday. He didn’t, and if doesn’t start acting like an adult, that will continue.

Trump needs to quit slinging poo and start bringing people together.

Trump should drop “Lying Ted” mantra; it’s not helping. He needsto speak from the heart, which is what got him into consideration last summer.

If only “honest” people were able to run for office that would leave out the Donald and all of his supporters. That might not be a bad thing.

This election is about allegiance to the United States. Make no mistake.

Your meme is that a vote for Trump = allegiance to the United States?

Rather than act like a Trumpeteer, allow me to say I take great umbrage at that irrational line of thought.

“The best indication of how closely Cruz is following the wishes of the “GOPe Machine” is his voting record in the Senate.”

What the hell does this have to do with the GOPe plans to use this tool to sop up delegates so,they can dump him at the convention?

No one gives a damn about his votes in the Senate. He is just a WARM BODY in the primaries that the establishment is able to play like a chump because he and his supporters think he is some heaven-sent savior of the nation, and are too stupid to see (many are just pretending like they dont) the brick wall heading right for them.

No, he can’t. He thinks that if he calls Cruz enough names, it will translate into votes when all it does is increase his negatives.

This is the sort of nonsense that just pours out of the Trump supporters. Just a WARM BODY. Just a tool of the GOPe. Give me a break. The best evidence of what Cruz will do as President is what he has done in the past. Fortunately that does not include converting from Democrat to Republican and stumbling on policy issues on a day to day basis.

The GOPe is doing nothing for Cruz. They are fighting to kill the Trump candidacy. Everyone running against Trump benefits from that. You don't need to sell out to them to get that support. It comes with the territory.

Get used to it. Your guy is losing it. He got clobbered in Wisconsin. His chances of winning are falling like a rock.

This basically insults the intelligence of anyone who hasn’t boarded the “trump Train”, and over one half of people who vote republican have not.

This is not the way to unite the party.

If Trump wins the nomination, he will not win the election.

FWI “countless of millions of dollars spent” was reported yesterday as just over 1 million in Wisconsin (1.2 million was the figure quoted). I would not call that “countless”.

I don’t understand the vitriol against Cruz. He has consistently stood and fought for the principles that most of us believe strongly. Any concerns I hear voiced are consistently distortions of his stance or record.

Sure, he has gathered a lot of GOPe support, as everyone drops out - those are the spoils of staying the course and winning.

The Donald is an embarrassment and will be crushed by even a horribly weak candidate like Hillary. I’m concerned that we have lost our sense in all the anger over what Obama and the Democrats have done to our country and society.

I find it amusing that someone with the FReeper name “CapitalistCrusader” is supporting the King of Crony Capitalism, the Donald himself.

No business man has any choice in the matter these days. This is the system that the political class has made and we simply must live in it.

I have a few investment properties in and around the town where I live. I have to go to the town clerk's office frequently to do the business I need to do. I have had to become friendly with the ladies that work at these offices in order to navigate the road blocks that are erected so that the local municipalities can siphon off some extra cash when I buy, sell or develop one of my properties. I buy them chocolates on Valentine's Day. I buy swag from their kid's and grand-kid's fund raisers. It's a cost of doing business.

I have no idea what their political persuasions are, but can certainly guess. I don't care what their political persuasions are. Am I a crony capitalist?

This is the system that they set up. I would like to see the day when much of this is unnecessary, but it is what it is.
