Why can’t the greatest deal maker and negotiator negotiates out his way to 1237 delegates?

Ted Cruz is the better deal maker.

He won’t need 1 of trumps delegates..

There are enough from Rubio and kasich to pull it off.

That wasn’t bad until the last part.

But Ted Cruz is not a flawed candidate in any sense of the word.

He is a legitimate conservative who has worked his way up from various offices in Texas to becoming a United States Senator who won against long odds and who went on to fulfill his promises to the electorate and become and outstanding Senator who stood up to the establishment.

Not an easy thing to do in an Old Boys Club like the Senate.

I think Cruz will win this on the second ballot and we will be much the better for it.

As far as the terror some here express about the ‘Establishment’ somehow grabbing the nomination away for someone they want, I agree with Charles Krauthammer. Yes, I read the article. Not afraid to read someone with whom I might disagree.

He said this:

“The post-1968 reforms abolished the system whereby governors, bosses and other party poo-bahs decided things. In the modern era, to reach down to the No. 3 candidate — a distant third who loses 55 of 56 contests — or to parachute in a party unicorn who never entered the race in the first place would be a radical affront to the democratic spirit of the contemporary nominating process.

A parachute maneuver might be legal, but it would be perceived as illegitimate and, coming amid the most intense anti-establishment sentiment in memory, imprudent to the point of suicide.”

But they can answer after the Cruz supporters who have brought us Hillary/Bernie because the were too stubborn to open their eyes and see beyond their predjudices.

Trump won't need a "deal" to get to 1237. As for Cruz's deal, I've seen them and NO THANKS!

Why do you guys say these things? Cruz has not been able to work with anyone in the Senate. He has an abrasive personality. Where are the deals he has been able to make?

Kraut hammer is a drama queen.

Whoever gets 1237 first is the nominee.

Period. End of story.

That’s who I support to beat Clinton or Sanders.

It’s not hard.

-- How do we resolve this with anything resembling party unity? --

By "going to war" against the Democrats. Same thing a divided country does, to unify. Focus on an external enemy. That's what leaders do.

Sweating it in advance is a waste of sweat.

Musta missed his bill he introduced about Jewish art work that the Nazis stole and the protections the bill provides to people and families trying recover it.

Google it and see who is supporting it with him.

I’m a little tired of Krauthammer telling me how smart he is. If he’s so fricking smart, why was he on Mondale’s campaign?

“You really think a large chunk of Trump’s delegates are going to flip to Cruz?”

Very good point, but you are using logic, and again, with certain people.....

Absolutely. It’s not even difficult math.

It’s unlikely that anyone will switch to Trump after the first ballot.

Trump has his chance. He blew in with early victories and should have had it sewed up by now.

Trump fans blame everyone but Trump. Cruz cheated, the media was against him The media? The media gave him an estimated billion dollars worth of free advertising that he didn’t have to pay a cent for.

The man was never a solid candidate. Not a conservative; not an honest businessman; no core values; recent democrat; immoral personal life.

Nothing to recommend him really except satisfying rhetoric wherein he promised everything to everybody.

I hope and pray that Trump does not get the nomination.

Only the most fanatic Trump supporters still contend that he could beat Hillary.

If we don’t beat Hillary, it’s all for nought.

“His people have been working on this since January.”

Maybe to a small degree. However IMHO ever since he has signed on to the GOPe the process has really been speeded up with the help of the GOPe machine. IMHO it just another way of screwing over the people who voted for Trump.
