"This Is Devastating News For Republicans": Poll Finds Denying Trump Nomination Would Crush GOP
ZeroHedge.com ^ | 04/09/2016 | Tyler Durden

In the latest shock for the GOP, which in recent weeks some have speculated is willing to scuttle the entire republican presidential campaign if it means not having Trump as the candidate, according to a just released Reuters poll, one third of Republican voters who support Donald Trump could turn their backs on their party in November's presidential election if he is denied the nomination in a contested convention.

Or, as The Hill puts it, "blocking Donald Trump from the Republican presidential nomination with a contested convention would spell disaster for the GOP" because instead Trump supporters would vote Democrat, vote third-party or sit out the election.

Just 66% of Trump supporters, which as of this moment are the most numerous of any presidential candidate, said they would support the GOP's nominee anyway.

Should it get to a contested convention, the GOP could be hurt even more in November because 58% of Trump supporters said they would stay with the party, while 16% would leave and 26% responded they didn't know, yet.

The results are bad news for Trump's rivals as well as party elites opposed to the real estate billionaire, suggesting that an alternative Republican nominee for the Nov. 8 presidential race would have a tougher road against the Democrats.

Trump is the weakest of the three GOPers left standing, and the dems are salivating at the prospect of facing him in the fall.

So if that is true, the Boston Globe just took the extraordinary step of devoting a full section of their very liberal newspaper to attacking the candidate they would most like to have as the winner of the Republican nomination.

Apparently they don't agree with you, and I suspect that their decision was driven by a lot more data than the opinion you express.

But if Trump gets the most votes and loses? Then it means we have already lost the country, voting doesn’t matter.

This primary has been an eye-opener to the nefarious inner working of the GOPe... And the Democrat party too for that matter. Both major parties have rigged a system controlled by insiders with the illusion of giving people a say thru a vote. But what is very exposed this year is if a true outsider runs, the political party tries to destroy them. It endangers the very cozy setup the parties have built for themselves.

Prove that simple math. Have you any survey data that contradicts all the existing numbers that show Trump would be crushed in November?

Survey’s? We don’t need that since we have had elections and Cruz has been CRUSHED. Humiliated. 13% in OH, 16% in VA, 17% in FL. All battleground states. All sure loses in the general for Cruz. Ted Cruz will never be POTUS.

I have no doubt you actually believe that, but Trump is the weakest of the three GOPers left standing, and the dems are salivating at the prospect of facing him in the fall.

Sorry, you missed it by a mile. Trump has the most voters from the conservative base by millions more than any other candidate, he’ the only one with a chance. Where else is he or any of the other potential candidates going to get votes.

I suspect you have fallen, as many have for these fantasy polls of possible future match ups, always used to persuade the easily persuadable.

If a candidate is getting crushed in his own party by the numbers of voters Cruz is, how can that candidate possibly win a general election in which the favored candidate, Trump is given the boot. The answer of course is he can’t. It’s total nonsense. And makes it impossible to believe so many FReepers are for real.

It’s all math. Trumps got the overwhelming advantage in numbers and loyalty. It’s Trump or Hillary and has been since FL and OH primary.

Prediction. If Trump is a bit short look for little Marco or Kasich, as VP.

Cruz’s is destroying his political future, now joined with the GoPe, he better enjoy the next couple of months.

“Ditto for Trump.

He has no chance of winning in November..
none.”

Then you are left with Kasich. Or is Ryan/Romney your last resort?

Tell me which states you fantasize that Trump will carry in 2016 that Romney didn’t.

That’s cute.

The reality is the loser will be America when Trump gets his ass thoroughly kicked in November. He will not defeat Her Infernal Malevolence or that 74-year-old communist.

Well, we shall see. If Trump is such a bad candidate what does that say about loser Ted Cruz? Trump beat him like a drum in the battleground states. Senator Green Eggs & Ham is never winning VA in a general. LOL.

You don’t get it...the GOP-e doesn’t WANT to win. They want to go back to the glorious days of when they were a 160 seat minority, might get a chance to play golf with the President, and didn’t have to make any decisions, except what kind of martini to drink at the 19th hole or which Asian Ladyboy to see that night.

Again with the fantasy propaganda surveys. Try real votes.

Trumps leading by millions of actual conservative votes, the real surveys. But of course you know this. To repeat.

Trump beat Cruz by 600,000 in FL and 400,000 in OH. Those votes ain’t going to Cruz in the general if Trump gets dumped. Cruz has been rejected. He’s just a Tool, and his Fools are voting for the looser.

You’ve seen the record setting rally’s. This political revolution is for real.

And a repeat.

Survey’s? We don’t need that since we have had elections and Cruz has been CRUSHED. Humiliated. 13% in OH, 16% in VA, 17% in FL. All battleground states. All sure loses in the general for Cruz. Ted Cruz will never be POTUS.

23,000 at a Trump rally in Rochester....15 at a Cruz rally in Brooklyn (11 of those telling Cruz to jump in the East River)...

Just for you folks in Rio Linda following along: here is an example from this poll.

Trump won my state Florida with 1.1 million votes.

This poll projects 30% or roughly 300,000 of them will not vote GOP in November.

The kenyan won Florida by 80,000 votes in 2012.

It doesn’t take a math PH.D. to see where the general election is headed if the nom is stolen from Trump.

Additionally, there is an open Senate seat in FL. Does Ted Cruz really want to gift wrap the Senate for Harry Reid as a going away present? Apparently so.
