Cruz Attacks Matt Drudge [AUDIO]
Daily Caller ^ | 4/11/16 | Steve Guest

Posted on 04/11/2016 4:21:10 PM PDT by markomalley

Sen. Ted Cruz claims that Roger Stone, The Daily Caller Men’s Fashion editor, “decides” what Matt Drudge posts on his website Drudge Report.

In an interview with Mike Slater on “The Mike Slater Show” Monday, Cruz said, “If people want to get on the “Trump train,” they can. I actually think we need real and meaningful solutions to the problems in this country, and as president my focus is going to be on three things: jobs, freedom and security.”

Slater asked Cruz what he thought of the Drudge Report and the Texas senator replied, “Look, Drudge Report over the years has done a good job highlighting the excesses of the left and the excesses of liberalism, and about the past month the Drudge Report has basically become the attack site for the Donald Trump campaign.”

“And so every day they have the latest Trump attack. They’re directed at me. It — by all appearances, Roger Stone now decides what’s on Drudge, and most days they have a six-month-old article that is some attack on me, and it’s — whatever the Trump campaign is pushing that day will be the banner headline on Drudge.”

“By the way, they no longer cover news. Remember they used to have things like election results? They don’t put those on Drudge anymore. When we win a state, suddenly the state doesn’t matter. You know Colorado — there was no red siren on Drudge when we won all 34 delegates in Colorado. That wasn’t news, because — I mean listen, that’s fine,” Cruz said.

Later Cruz said, “My number one priority is bringing jobs back to America, raising wages for everyone, making it easier for people struggling to achieve the American Dream. That’s my focus. And I’m going to let others worry about the silly political game and the circus.”

Urg. He’s dividing the anti-leftist base.

Not ‘anti-anti’.

Sorry, I did not mean to say ‘anti-antii’.

Yeah, but I’m still worked up!

Cruz attacks Matt Drudge

More Harvard musings from the human cockroach.

This creep will say anything.....just to get attention and see his name in the news.

Must have a formula....each time his name is in the news he adds another $1000 to his speaking fees....once his presidential bid is finally torpedoed by Manafort.

Cruz says, the focus should be, my priority is, the solution is.

Trump says we will, I will, we are going to, it is going to happen.

When some sweaty drip like GPH starts getting under my skin - and is tolerated - maybe it is time to step back from this place.

Yeah, Cruz is losing so much public support that it’s Sleazy tRump who’s negatives have hit the roof with the highest negatives ever recorded for any presidential candidate in history.

D1, It sounds like you need a break. Running the FR Caucus every day must be exhausting. After Tuesday, Cruz will be mathematically eliminated, so you might want to end it there or just run it on Tuesdays following the acutal GOP schedule. If you changed it to Tuesdays, you’d just have to do it once a week and 7 more times to keep it going all the convention if that is what you want to do. Thanks for everything you do and post on FR. You’re one of the best.

I mentioned all that, because some thoughtless people think the thread just happens.

It’s part of my routine now, and yet I still have a life, go places, see people and enjoy life.

It allows us to blow off steam a bit.

It’s okay. No problem...

I’ll keep it going a while longer.

Two weeks, two months? Not sure exactly. When the time comes, we’ll know it.

I think the difference is that those examples are admittedly conservative sites. It makes sense that they would have a conservative slant.

Drudge has always marketed himself as an independent news person who is not entangled by political hack editors who slant the news. Granted, this has always benefited conservatives in the past but only because Drudge’s competition is so left leaning. He was the only “fair” news game in town.

The past couple months he has been incredibly slanted against Cruz and in favor of Trump. He isn’t just reporting the news that nobody else will report about Cruz, he is piling on. On top of that, he is treating Trump with kid gloves.

It’s his site. He can run it how he wants. Cruz is right though. It is no longer an independent news site. It is a pro-Trump site.

Hardly an attack. Matt must have really thin skin not to be able to take any criticism.

I have often gone to the Drudge and I see nothing different at all, nothing that could justify Sen. Cruz’s charge, nothing at all.

Drudge is a conservative who wants a wall built and he wants to see the GOPe relegated to the ash heap of history. He knows Cruz is part of the establishment and the only one who can destroy the GOPe and business as usual is Trump. Cruz needs to quit whinning. He tried the same garbage on O’Reilly the other night and O’Reilly would have no part of it. Cruz acted like a raving lunatic talking about Trump, and kept interrupting O’Reilly. He was about to cry when he said O’Reilly goes easy on Trump and favors him. There’s a reason why Cruz does not like to appear on O’Reilly. He can’t lie over and over and over about Trump without being called on it.

“Won? I guess it all depends on the definition.”

Can Colorado be called an election? If so, I guess we know who is important to Ted Cruz and it’s not the voters, it’s the party elite.

Screw all of them.

Rejection of the gross immoral behavior of NYC is not bigotry; it is a necessary moral standard for a free nation to survive.
