Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in statistical dead heat in NBC poll showing close Nov. match-up

There's just two points separating Hillary Clinton from Republican Donald Trump according to a new general election tracking poll The poll also shows the discord among Republicans with only about half of Trump and Ted Cruz's vowing to support the other GOP candidate

Primary polling has Trump comfortably ahead of his Republican rivals, while Clinton bests Bernie Sanders by six points

A new poll from NBC News shows a highly competitive race between frontrunners Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton come November.

In a head-to-head match-up, the new NBC News/SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking poll shows Clinton with 38 percent support and Trump with 36 percent support from registered voters, for a difference of two, which is just slightly outside the poll's error estimate of plus or minus 1.3 percent.

Another 16 percent would prefer to vote for a third-party candidate, while 8 percent would stay home.

Sen. Ted Cruz, who has the second-most amount of delegates on the Republican side, is also competitive against Clinton, though the race isn't nearly as tight.

In a hypothetical Clinton-Cruz match-up, the Texas senator receives 32 percent, while Clinton scores five points higher at 37 percent.

Additionally, another 19 percent would vote for a third-party candidate, while 10 percent would sit at home on Election Day.

The poll showcased the divisive nature of the GOP primary, which is likely to be settled at a contested convention in Cleveland in July.

Of respondents who said they supported Cruz, only a little more than half said they would support Trump in the general election – 56 percent.

A full quarter, 26 percent, said they would look for a third-party candidate, though Cruz's Republicans would not really drift to Clinton, with only 6 percent saying they'd support the former secretary of state.

Please listen to me. HE HAS NOT EVEN STARTED ON THAT BITCH!! She is a target rich environment. And Trump won’t be hiding out like that wussy Romney on Benghazi— No sir — he will be laying down withering fire.

But...but...

Not possible! Trump is unelectable, his negatives are too high, Glenn Beck doesn't like him, blah blah blah...

GO TRUMP!

No they mean something. They show he has a sect of strong support. But he is no national phenomonin. He has yet to break 50% in a single primary. A majority of people do not like him. The big rallies? All for show. Trump only goes to the population centers so he can show off with these big rallies. He won go out in to the small towns and meet Mr. and Mrs. Joe America.

In the process Trump has destroyed his opponents not with the issues but with insults, smears and character assination. He did it to Jeb!, he did it to Carson, he did it Rubio and he has done it to Cruz. Yeah, he’s gotten people to sour on Cruz, but still most people dont like Trump or trust him

And Ted “I am the only one who can beat Hillary” Cruz is about to lose to no hoper Kasich in 4-6 states in the next couple weeks. This race is over.

Kasich really appeals to women voters. He has honed his campaign to get the voters that Trump and Cruz do not get. As much as he says he is not a VP candidate, he makes an excellent VP candidate for balance (assuming of course the President lives).

As usual, Cruzers are irrational and make no sense.

If Trump was such a weak candidate he wouldn’t be beating Cruz.

If Cruz was a strong candidate he wouldn’t be running behind the son of the mailman in the next primary races.

Cruzers need to realize that in order to win the general election Cruz would have to get actual votes from real people.

Cutting deals with party insiders and swindling delegates are not tactics that translate well to the general election. Cruz should get out now.

Is that something new?

I have been wondering about that myself but I recon that he is most likely from the Cruz campaign and getting paid by the post.

You just keep on thinking that...

“... Mr. and Mrs. Joe America” are the ones who are supporting Trump...

It’s the GOP “establishment elite” and the liberal media who are against him...Do you not realize if he wasn’t popular with real America that the leftists and the media and the democrat socialists would be pulling for him to win???
They are scared to death of him...That’s exactly why they are pulling out all stops to try and derail him...

THINK ABOUT IT............

Cruz isn’t going to win any female voters hysterically ranting like he did on Hannity today. That’s was obviously the intention smearing Trump as violent but Cruz just can’t dial it down. Ever.

Speaking of which, why is Cruz scared to campaign in NY? 95 delegates up a week from now and Cruz is MIA in NY. This is the guy who will beat Hillary? Really?

Notice more Cruz supporters are willing to support trump than trump supporters are willing to support Cruz.

I've seen quite the opposite, in my online experience. In reality, the numbers are probably close to proportional...

LOL! I bet Cruz wishes he could locate some of these population centers...

If it is this close in a national poll of REGISTERED voters, it is very bad news for the Rats. Very bad news. Especially given how hard the media is on the GOP and Trump in particular.

And Trump hasn’t even started on her. He will be willing to attack her. McCain and Romney handled Obama with kid gloves thinking the media would like them better. The media destroyed them anyway.

When I look at the graph in post#2 I am thinking it shows lots of Bernie voters who are saying they would vote for Trump in a Trump vs Hillary match up. Also shows lots of Bernie voters who will sit it out rather than vote for the corrupt, Wall Street stooge HildaBeast.

Thus Bernie’s continual campaigning against Hillary and anti-Wall Street campaigning is helping The Donald in November.

Cruz is hated for being Cruz.

Trump is hated because he has said firebrand things.

Once Cruz talks policy he is screwed and will eat up that 5 point difference he apparently has only being hated by 61% of women.
