I heard Cruz's attack of Trump yesterday on the Hannity show, and even Hannity and his guest Frank Luntz thought it was over the top.
It's going to backfire. The meme that Cruz has won 11 elections in a row is lyin' with statistics at its best. What about the state of Arizona, Mr. Cruz?
Backroom deals with the party brass can only get you so far in an election that's about the choice of the people.
This election cycle is different. Sure, in 2012 and before, money and the Bushie elite would anoint the candidate they wanted. No more. Trump has changed all that by exposing the corruption of the insiders and taken his appeal direct to the voters. So now, We the People are wise to these shenanigans.
My theory is that when a campaign banks too much on personal attacks and influencing the political insiders, the real voters punish them at the ballot box.
Mr. Cruz has done excellent in his home state, caucuses and places like Colorado, but he is about to get hit hard with the reality of votes from actual rank and file voters. The polls are saying that Kasich (who's he?) is running second to Trump in New York.
