Martin O'Malley, Mike Huckabee considering possibly forming their own band

There is life after a failed presidential bid, and it involves random appearances and possibly forming a band with other one-time candidates.

Democrat Martin O'Malley and Republican Mike Huckabee, former governors of Maryland and Arkansas, respectively, were in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to discuss the AMC drama TURN: Washington's Spies. It was the first time the duo appeared together, but it's possible it won't be the last — both men are musicians, and O'Malley told ABC News they had talked about "tunes" they could play. Added Huckabee: "If Martin O'Malley and Mike Huckabee can get together on the same stage and come to harmony, that would be historic."

Both men have performed in bands before — O'Malley with O'Malley's March and Huckabee with Capitol Offensive — and between O'Malley's guitar strumming and Huckabee's bass picking, it might be a natural step for them to join forces. All they need now is a singer and a drummer — luckily, there's no shortage of former 2016 candidates with free time on their hands. Catherine Garcia

I was listening to “In A Broken Dream” by Python Lee Jackson this morning.

This lost classic would be a great song for O’Malley and Huckabee to cover. For those who don’t know the song, check it out on the YouTube. Early, early Rod Stewart performance.

There is some news the average American can get their feeble minds wrapped around.

We are doomed.

Mike Huckabee and his band performed at Free
Republic’s “Count the Silverware Ball” which was the best inaugural ball.

They’ll be a Creedence tribute band.
Leading off their set with “Who’ll Tax the Rain?”

Is the job of the political media now to cover overgrown children?

I like “Capitol Offensive” as a band name.
