The reason why I said 3rd graders is that educators know that around the 3rd grade, and in most cases 4th graders, enter into what is known as the "sweet spot" of education. They know for the most part how to read and write enough to put their thoughts down on paper, and this "sweet spot" lasts until the hormones begin to kick in, around the 8th grade when students get mentally sidetracked.

The top educationists in the 17th century knew about this sweet spot and were able to train their students to be in complete command of Latin by the 8th grade. All the books in college were written in Latin. Students like Thomas Jefferson were able to enter college at an earlier date than most students do today because they had real knowledge poured into them during the sweet spot phase.

Today the only ones who truly understand the sweet spot are the leftists who employ that certain time to regiment the students into socialist thought usually without anyone knowing it. If you ever get a weird feeling about something look closely and you are probably staring into that secreted thinking masquerading as education. Parents are also unaware of this type of training, even though they are quick to notice when things are not right.

What I am referring to is known as affective education that works the emotions as opposed to true education which works with the reasoning powers of the brain.

There is at least one known culprit in all this and it is Bill Ayers. He crows about how successful he has been at creating an atmosphere for the "eventual" takeover of our children's minds leading to preparation for the ultimate marxist utopia. And I am not kidding. Right under our noses. Socialists don't like kids who know how to think because it does not fit their plan.

you know, I have to use [sic] more frequently when quoting college professors than I ever did quoting any other source.

College instructors write like high school kids. There are very few professors left, actually.

A recent movement back to using professors is taking place. More and more colleges are requiring a PhD to teach. However, the quality of instruction has not improved.

In the liberal arts, it does not take much to get a PhD these days.

Nor in the sciences. I’ve seen “dissertations” only 10 pages long. I’ve read countless dissertations that merely explained other dissertations without introducing a single fact or conclusion not found in the other dissertation.

More and more colleges are requiring a PhD to teach. However, the quality of instruction has not improved.

That is because more and more PhD awards are useless and worse than useless especially in the "soft sciences" like sociology, women's studies, literature, etc.

College "education" in anything but the actual sciences and engineering has become a cruel joke meant not only to indoctrinate into intellectual and moral ruin but to extract money from the rubes who think they area getting any thing for their massive indebtedness - which they now expect the government to amnesty, which it ultimately will do in exchange for their slavish support.

But the biggest suckers are the taxpayers who pay for this outrageous scam and don't in return burn these wicked places to the ground and tar and feather their professors and administrators for the theft and murder of the future and morality of their children and society.

yeah, we mainly focus on the liberal arts but I have heard that about the pre-med curriculum as well from a lady who tutored pre-med students.
