It’s on: Tensions between Trump and the GOP escalate in public fight

Tensions between the Republican Party and its own front-runner erupted into a full-blown public battle as top party officials rebuked Donald Trump on Friday for alleging that the GOP primary system was “rigged” against him.

The dispute, which has been simmering for days, centers on Trump’s failure to win any delegates last weekend in Colorado, which selected its 34 delegates at a party convention rather than a primary attended by voters. All went to Trump’s chief rival, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.

The outcome prompted a daily stream of complaints and allegations this week from Trump, who wrote in an op-ed published in Friday’s Wall Street Journal that the “system is being rigged by party operatives with ‘double-agent’ delegates who reject the decisions of voters.”

A senior Republican National Committee official fired back with a thinly veiled response, writing in a Friday memo to reporters that “each process is easy to understand for those willing to learn it.”

“It ultimately falls on the campaigns to be up to speed on these delegate rules,” wrote RNC communications director Sean Spicer. “Campaigns have to know when absentee ballots are due, how long early voting lasts in certain states, or the deadlines for voter registration; the delegate rules are no different.”

This is a Bush guy and a complete RINO.

Sean M. Spicer - Chief Strategist and Communications Director

Sean M. Spicer has served as RNC Communications Director since 2011, and in February of 2015 added the duties of Chief Strategist. In his additional role, he leads the negotiations and implementation of the new presidential primary debate structure. He coordinates with broadcast networks and conservative media partners and serves as a liaison to the Republican candidates and their campaigns. In addition, he works with the Counsel’s Office and the Chief of Staff on assisting state parties with delegate selection and planning for state conventions, primaries and caucuses. He also serves as a liaison to the Republican National Convention staff on messaging opportunities and media strategy.

Sean arrived at the RNC in February of 2011, at a time when it was deep in debt and had a badly tarnished brand. While building an award-winning press and research team from the ground up, he helped lead a dramatic turnaround at the committee. During the 2012 cycle, he oversaw significant growth in the RNC’s social media efforts, an upgrade of the party’s television studio, a massive expansion of its surrogate operations and the creation of an in-house video and production team. His team’s rapid response efforts were featured on ABC News.

The aftermath of the 2012 election brought more changes to the Communications Department, as the RNC expanded its engagement with minority media outlets and diverse communities. Sean reinstituted a nationwide communications training effort, known as the RNC’s “Comms College.” The video production team also expanded to produce more original video content, winning the committee dozens of Pollie and Telly awards. He oversaw the implementation and messaging surrounding the party’s widely praised post election “Growth and Opportunity Report.”

In preparation for the 2016 presidential election, Sean has led the RNC’s effort to improve the primary debate process. Working with networks and other partners, he is in charge of producing a schedule that will promote higher quality, informative debates.

Sean is a frequent guest on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, and every election cycle his department has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in earned broadcast media.

He previously served as Assistant United States Trade Representative for Media and Public affairs in the George W. Bush administration, logging over 440,000 miles of international travel in two and a half years.

From May 2005 to 2006, Sean was Communications Director for the House Republican Conference, overseeing media training for members of Congress and over 220 press secretaries. Before that, he served as Communications Director for the House Budget Committee.

During the 2000 election cycle, Sean was the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Director of Incumbent Retention, overseeing the re-election strategies of 220 members of Congress and publishing the first-ever “Incumbent Survival Guide.”

Despite Sean’s work for Republicans, he’s known to partner with his Democrat counterparts to raise money for good causes. In 2012, he shaved his head on ABC’s This Week, after raising $16,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation with the DNC’s Communications Director. They also worked together to raise $30,000 for military public affairs officers in an event they dubbed, “Flacks for Flacks Who Wear Flak Jackets.”

Among Sean’s other distinctions are serving as an Easter Bunny at the White House Easter Egg Roll, being lampooned by the Onion, cited as a “Moment of Zen” on the Daily Show, and being mocked by David Letterman.

Sounds like he wants to be famous, is a Washington elite who is worried about his gravy train coming to and end and hates Trump. He is afraid of being fired if Trump becomes President.

Appears is is also solely responsible for trying to sabotage Trump during the debates.

Sean M. Spicer has served as RNC Communications Director since 2011, and in February of 2015 added the duties of Chief Strategist. Sean Spicer is a Bush surrogate and is anti Trump. Notice how the Bush and Romney people have fallen off the face of the earth in their attempt to take out Trump because they couldn't handle the backlash. This guy is a Bush person and is doing the work of Bush Sr who is still upset that Jeb lost. Same with Karl Rove, George W will always own him and they won't let Rove support Trump.

“Trump is right. The GOPe is indeed trying to rig the outcome of the elections against him, ignoring the will of the people.”

I agree. And Cruz sure is going along with it. I think Trump and Cruz are both stiffs. These candidates suck.

The Donald knows a lot of influential people. He could destroy people’s careers if he were so inclined.

It is interesting now that so many want to defend the GOP because they hate Trump. Back when Cruz was running as an “outsider” some of the same folks who now defend the GOP were angry at the way we were betrayed especially after 2014 by the GOP and they wanted that outsider candidate.

Now that Cruz is buddy of the establishment and has the whole Bush cabal behind him, the story changes to the GOP is fair but it is Trump that is bad.

The GOP has not changed and they will sell the people out again if allowed. It is Cruz that has changed his tune and shown how many people will follow and pretend all is well in the GOP and in how they treat voters.

The RNC is afraid that Trump won’t sign any middle class manufacturing job killing legislation. Make the pols tons of money selling out the regular folks.

Stats: 94 million out of labor force , participation at a 30 year low. Wages adjusted for inflation have not gone up for about 20 years. Construction workers pay for many is at 1990 levels.

For me myself, I don’t see that the GOP did anything since they took both the house and senate with Tea Party help, except stabbing the Tea Party in the back and letting Obama get away with sigging the IRS on them.

So for me I would not be opposed to voting for their Dem opponents to get their jobs so at least the corrupt GOPe who sold out fellow Americans for cash, and have heaped 19 trillion debt on us, funded Obamacare, etc. get what they deserve Fire All of Them with few exceptions.

Maybe then Economic Nationalism, or Caring about Americans First will be Job One instead of doing stuff for lobbies-ts

how can anyone NOT see this.

##### the election if we lose.

This is bigger than one election now.

It’s about taking the country back or losing it forever.

Of course, if Trump wins, that makes it a lot easier on us.

I was a delegate to three conventions (county, congressional district, state) supporting Ron Paul in 2012, and we saw all of these dirty tricks. There was a lot of rigging going on all over the place.

The only dirty trick they pulled against Paul that they haven’t done against Trump is the one they can’t, because Trump is simply too well known. Google “Ron Paul Blackout”, or you can simply watch this and get your mind blown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keWX55SpYmU

I’m especially impressed with their devious plot beginning in 1912— such cunning foresight!

But the valiant trump warriors are up to this task.

It would be pretty easy to shut up the GOPe and prove Trump is right. If Trump would just pay a well known polling company to ask Colorado voters who they would vote for in a republican primary: Cruz, Trump, or Kasich.

The poll will prove the voters prefer Donald by two to one over the Dominionist the convention insiders had chosen.

That's when I got on to the GOPe's game. Lois Lerner committed MULTIPLE serious felonies - and she walked without a scratch.

Trey "Gowdy Doody" Gowdy was just putting on a big show. The Uniparty - both blue jerseys & red jerseys - LIKES the IRS.

An update on today’s protest at the CO. State Capitol.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3421451/posts

See #23 post.

It lists all the 2012 delegates names

There’s a link for 2016 delegate names

Need to cross check names and see if they are the same.

Suspect the delegates were originally all pre-slated for Jeb.
Now the same folks are acting as placeholders for the future Ryan/Bush.

The dispute, which has been simmering for days, centers on Trump’s failure to win any delegates last weekend in Colorado...

False premise. The dispute regarding Colorado is that THE PEOPLE didn't get to vote.
