Bernie Sanders issued a global call to action at the Vatican on Friday to address “immoral and unsustainable” wealth inequality and poverty, using the high-profile gathering to echo one of the central platforms of his presidential campaign.

The Democratic senator from Vermont cited Pope Francis and St. John Paul II repeatedly during his speech to the Vatican conference commemorating the 25th anniversary of a landmark teaching document from John Paul on social and economic justice after the Cold War. […]

“We don’t choose to politicize the pope,” Sanders told attendees, “but his spirit and courage and the fact, if I may say so here, that his words have gone way, way, way beyond the Catholic Church.”

Sanders also warned that youth around the world are no longer satisfied with the status quo, which includes “corrupt and broken politics and an economy of stark inequality and injustice.” …

Ambition Inequality is the best expression I’ve heard in a while. You’ve nailed it exactly.

The pope just wants him to stop pushing the slaughter of babies in their mother’s wombs, and homosexual perversion. The existence of the poor is not the problem - our brutality and perversion toward each other is. Catholic 101, Christian 101.

Just by raising by your bootstraps, you became immoral.

BTW, I hope somebody in your family is still a plumber - they make a good living!

Yet Bernie only gave 4% of HIS income to charity.
It has always struck me as odd how the folks who think compassion is measured by their willingness to give away someone else’s money often donate very little of their own.

Has Bernie released his tax return yet? I hear he’s loaded. Wouldn’t be at all surprised.

He released one that claims he makes about $205K a year and gives 4 percent of that income to charity. It is not last year’s tax return.

Maybe Francis will keep him - for help brainstorming more good ideas on how to control the world’s producers, coddling muzzies and destroying Western Civilization.

One person doesn’t work because they are losers.
Some work part time to go to college.
Most get some education to get some better pay or start businesses.
Others bust their butts 120 hours a week and lose three fortunes before betting it right and gathering some wealth.

It is immoral to expect equal outcomes from unequal efforts.

The Bible, “Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Goods!”

For Hillary’s husband, “Thou Shall Not Covet Thy Neighbor’s Wife”

Meanwhile, the 1936 USSR constitution contained a distorted version of 2 Thessalonians 3:10 in Article 12. Mainly to legitimize state slavery.
