Trump Supporters Walk Out of Georgia Delegate Fight After Party Picks Cruz Supporter...
Breitbart ^ | April 16, 2016 | Patrick Howley

Posted on 04/16/2016 5:51:19 PM PDT by bobsunshine

Donald Trump supporters walked out of a delegate election in Georgia Saturday to protest a vote that robbed Trump of all of his slated delegates from a district that he won in the primary.

A Cruz-Rubio alliance at the district convention in Buford, Georgia helped to knock Trump supporters out of the district’s national delegation altogether. Cruz supporters implied that Trump’s people would “embarrass” the district at the convention in Cleveland. Then things got heated.

“This morning, I attended Georgia 7th Congressional District GOP convention as a delegate and a Donald Trump supporter. We were there to elect the 3 delegates and 3 alternates to the national convention,” Ronnie Kurtz told Breitbart News. “Per the primary results, two slots were for Trump, and one was for Rubio. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% Cruz finished third in the primary and had no delegates allotted to him…Nonetheless, the hall was stacked with Cruz delegates.”

On the first ballot, the party voted on a delegate slate that would have taken away one of Trump’s delegates but would have, at least, still given him one representative. That bloc would have given Trump supporter Debbie Dooley one of the slots and a Cruz supporter named Carolyn Fisher another slot, with a Rubio slot going to local party convention chairman BJ Van Gundy. But Cruz supporters voted down that slate.

This is a big 'who cares?'.

They're bound for Trump. There won't a second ballot.

Thus, if there is no second ballot, who gives a damn?

Trump has exposed the corruption....

I am shocked at how corrupt the system is. It’s set up so Average Joe could never be president. I’m sure that’s not what the founding fathers intended.

Also, the schmoozing delegates. It would be perfectly legal for Trump to try to soften up Cruz delegates by flying them to Mar-a-lago for the weekend. Can you imagine Cruz and the media screaming if he did this. It may be legal, but it ain’t right!.

I am embarrassed to say I was a card carrying member of such a disgusting organization.

“Half or more of the delegates Cruz games his way into will vote for Kasich rather than Cruz if word comes down from the Party for them to do so.”

It doesn’t work that way. The delegates are elected, not from a select pool of party insiders. These are folks who, unlike you, decided to become involved and run for the delegate spot to go to the convention. They want to go party, have a stake in history, and vote for the candidate they support.

Depending on the state there rules, a group of elected officials that go who might desire support in the next race. The this group is malleable. In most states it’s a small group.

Exactly right.

There will be no second ballot. Trump already has his 1237+.

More important right now is that he is building his organization to go up against the democrats.

Better to hop on the Trump train if you want to win.

Today on the Joe Pags “Weekend” show Donald Trump said and I quote:”If I don’t win a lot of people are not gonna vote.” unquote.
This proves the rumored DEAL between BFFs Hillary and Donald is true.
Vote for Trump Hillary wins-don’t vote for Trump Hillary wins.
And the Stupid Party rolls on and on.

Another Obama! Do you know of Huma Abedin her lesbian lover, we have a Gay president and a muslim at that, in the WH.

What is all this "deny the voters" crap in Georgia?

Look, Trump didn't even win 40% of the vote in Goergia, and the people who voted for candidates other than Trump are just as much entitled to have their votes counted as are Trump supporters. They don't fall off the face of the earth just because their candidate dropped out.

Here's the truth: Trump won 38.8% of the vote in Georgia. But Cruz and Rubio combined won 48%. So when the Cruz and Rubio supporters unite as they have every right to do at these conventions, they significantly outnumber the Trump supporters, and so elect the delegates of their choice.

People who voted for candidates who are no longer in the race are just as much a part of the electorate as anyone else. And if the delegates those people elected prefer to support Cruz over Trump, that is perfectly legitimate, and not the least bit undemocratic.

Trump should just run as an independent. Is it any wonder that the republican party does not want to give the nomination to a person who isn’t one of them???? Seriously???

The only way Cruz can win is with the vast majority of Trump supporters. That is quite a challenge as most Trump supporters hate Cruz.

However, the only way Trump can win is with the vast majority of Cruz supporters. This is an easier bridge to cross, but still not easy with the hateful rhetoric.

If a truce is not reached by the time the convention ends, then we will have a Democrat president and liberal Supreme Court until Revolution 2.

If it were possible, your post 25 should be pinned at the top of every thread. This whole idea that the “GOP-E” secretly controls all those delegates is simply false. Most of them are committed people who feel strongly about their candidate. That’s why they became delegates in the first place. The exceptions, as you note, are the definite minority.

The GOP is simply going to have to come to grips with the reality of a Trump presidency, because Cruz is just not happening. That’s all there is to it.

Personally, I like it. Make America Great Again, and all that!

But the delegates can be schmoozed. It’s legal but not right. Who knows what their price is.

Good for them. This bulls#!t is going to end, one way or another. Still, 95% of Americans have no clue how little their vote matters and how they have become disenfranchised by the parties.

If it takes making Primary Reform a top issue, no one is better equipped to do that than Trump.

If it takes running each and every Republican party operative out of office then so be it. If the people do now have the right for their voice to be heard and their vote counted for the highest office in the land, then we are no better than a banana republic dictatorship.

This is what I don;t get.
I understand why the establishment wants cruz as they want their gravy train to carry on.

What I don't understand is the people who support a guy who can't win more than 4 primary states where the people vote and then think he would win in a general.

The people who voted Trump...who won in their district. And people who are Americans...get it now?
