Today in New York Donald Trump defended his campaign manager.
Corey’s right here. He’s totally exonerated from that bogus nonsense from that bogus claim. Who, by the way, if you look at the tape it bore no relationship from what she said happened. And I tell you I really have a lot of respect for the people in Florida for looking at that fairly. I really do. I have great respect for the prosecuting attorney and for the police for taking a look at that clip and realizing she misrepresented. And he’s good. That was a weight on his shoulder. It had a huge impact on him with his family.

There was only one reason the media went wall to wall with this: they thought they could take out Trump's campaign guy, and hence harm Trump. The pressure they brought to bear was 100 percent. ANY other Republican would have folded. In fact, the other Republican candidates – displaying their weakness and lack of character – folded on Trump's behalf, "demanding" Trump fire Corey L.
There was only one thing that didn't go according to the oft-used Republican "scandal" script: Trump didn't budge. And he, and his campaign, won the battle. Fields is over, done. Everyone is sick of the story, the frame-by-frame examinations of a bump in a crowd. She overstayed her public moment, and her drama queen behavior eliminated her credibility. Ultimately, the brouhaha didn't hurt Trump an iota – because he didn't kowtow to the BS "bullying women" accusations, which were obvious crap.
Trump is a truly unique candidate, who does not dance to the media's tune, and cannot be managed and controlled as every other Republican has been managed and controlled since Reagan.
That said, Trump is moving Corey sideways as I predicted, but he was going to do that on his time schedule, not because the effing media and some special snowflakes demanded it.

I think Cruz made a tactical error on this one. He should have just stayed out of it (he’s a lawyer and must have known the case was minuscule and would go nowhere) but instead tried to capitalize on it and call for the guy’s firing. Low class move. Made him look like an opportunist. Just like with the BLM protestors. Even Dershowitz got that one right.
