Oh the Founding Fathers certainly did envision and understand ‘factions’ as they would have called our parties. They didn’t write them into the Constitution because they’d hoped to avoid them. But they themselves developed the first ones during the ratification debate between the federalists and the anti-federalists and had accepted them as inevitable by the time their generation had passed. And given the choice between “private clubs” and their alternative, “government clubs,” they’d favor competitive private clubs wielding power every time. If you don’t like your club, switch to another or form your own.

I use to think we Americans at least had a choice between two candidates.
Now, we know that this is all an illusion.
Enjoy your “choice” for President.

“It’s my party and I will cry if I want to, cry if I want to.”
YAY GOP! You guys are soooooo awesome!

"good luck to you. They (Trump followers) dont understand and they probably dont want to understand."Sigh..... I know. It's like trying to teach calculus to a kindergarten class, though the kindergarten class, at least, wants to learn.
I do feel though, when some particularly childish and erroneous statements are made, at least one person disagrees.

railing against a "rigged" process
Peter Johnson, Jr., Legal Commentator on FoxNews, said this morning that the system IS rigged in several Republican primaries. RNC appoints who the delegates are several weeks AFTER the primary. Ironcally, the Dem's system seems less 'rigged'.

So you folks in flyover country like your little Soviet states. You like it when the Banana Republicans tell you how to ;think?

The Constitution is the answer. When things are going wrong one needs to return to the fundamentals. Our Constitution has been ignored and until we return to its first principles we will be a mess.
You counter your own argument.
Politicians ignore The Constitution. How are they or new politicians going to be forced to adhere/return to it? It didn't work after the Republican party was handed the House. It didn't work after the Republican party was handed the Senate.
They ignore, not only The Constitution, but certain laws that are on the books.
Ethereal political theories are not going to cause things to change.

SLIGHT correction: The standard should be getting the most *INFORMED* citizens to participate in the election by voting.
IMO, what we have here is a spotlight on the ol’ Boss Tweed....Meet the new boss.

"Sigh..... I know. It's like trying to teach calculus to a kindergarten class, though the kindergarten class, at least, wants to learn." Aww...soo sweet of you two to be so altruistic in caring enough to "enlighten" us "unenlightened" Trump supporters. What would we ever do without such erudite "wisdom" from our fellow FReepers? (Hope I don't need the sarcasm tag here...)
