Breitbart News ^ | April 20, 2016

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX)said Wednesday morning that a contested Republican convention is certain and that supporters of Donald Trump are ultimately helping Hillary Clinton reach the White House.

During a radio interview for a Philadelphia morning show, Cruz predicted with certainty that the Republican Party is “headed to a contested convention.” He suggests Trump supporters “might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car.”

Cruz parrots what Trump articulates after he gauges the popularity of the overall response.

What does conservative Constitutionalism really mean?

Assuming that we can agree, there actually is a platform of conservatism. And politicians champion it to get elected. The fresher you are to DC, the easier it is to stay the course or to fake the course.

I thought GWB was a conservative. <—funny that. Yet, he was sure better than a Gore or a Kerry.

And what difference does it make how conservative any one promises to be if they don’t have the guts to secure our nation. Being an American and a patriot first supersedes being a conservative. Anyone can spout conservative rhetoric, but we we are losing our sovereignty and that’s not conservative. And when you vote to send jobs away and enjoin globalism you are no longer a conservative or an American patriot.

Conservatism Constitutionalism is not an important issue when-

You feel insecure and unsafe in your own country due to government policy.

You watch business relocate and jobs disappear due to the government policy.

You watch your land invaded by criminal and terroristic enemies due to ..........

You watch unchecked disease and unsafe products enter due to...................

You watch the greatest military in the world destroyed internally due to............

Yes actual demographics of people voting for Trump. Like Yesterday it was 59% women. Like the 62 percent said he was the best to beat Hillary, etc. This is played out in all those key states any GOP has to win in order to win the General. You know real world objective data not this stuff the Globalist express tries to sell.

You still don’t seem to understand the difference between primary election voters and general election voters do you

The fact is every poll as it pertains to the general election has him losing. As is reflected today of course. But live in your alternative reality if it pleases you

Do Trumpets ever listen to themselves? We are to be convinced that the media and polling agencies all gathered in one place and plotted how they can manufacture polls to make Trump look bad and help Hillary. What they leave out is those same polls show Hillary is also disliked

Trumpets... The things they tell themselves

“I’m not saying Trump will lose for sure. I just doubt if he will win.”

That is a large part of the reason that I no longer support Cruz to be the nominee. Of course I will vote for him in November if he is, and I’ll try my damnedest to get others to do so as well, but I think that Cruz will lose almost for sure...whereas Trump has a real shot at it (IMHO) because he is a very different kind of candidate. He will be on the offensive against Hillary from Day 1, and won’t relent until the votes have been counted - and Hillary can’t deal with that. That inability is the one and ONLY advantage that Republicans have - they are ALWAYS attacked, with the media being silent at best, if not joining in. Dems can’t handle the stress - look at how Hillary and Bill STFU after Trump was attacked for being exploitative of women, and responded by attacking Bill for being uber-exploitative, and Hillary for enabling him. They can’t handle it, and Trump dishes it out like candies at Halloween.

Just my $0.02.

“The guy who couldn’t win a single county in FL, OH, VA, SC, or NY is going to defeat Hillary?”

That is key right there. For a candidate to beat Hillary in the general election a Republican needs some of those states. I don’t see Ted winning those.

“Now the party leadership is not dumb when it comes to keeping their gravy train rolling. The know the above even if you refuse to believe it. They have already told you they want somebody else as the Nominee and have floated a couple. Obviously if they do that the GOP will lose big in the general but they do not seem to care.

So, the most likely scenario at a contested convention going to a 2nd vote is the GOPe will direct their Party loyal #neverTrump fake Cruz delegates to torpedo Cruz. Look at how many long term GOP insider State Party officals are in his delegates if you do not think that’s possible.

So real world is a Vote for Cruz is a Vote for a contested convention where Cruz will LOSE. The GOPe will install a Rino and we end up with Hillary.”

This.

“Cruz is young enough that he should recognize it’s not yet his time and that he can now choose to either look to the future or dig in his heels and damage not only his party but also his own political future.”

Cruz should try to emulate Nixon. He could have done a Gore in 1960, because the election WAS stolen by Kennedy (Joe, that is), but he chose the country over his personal interests. In 1966, after licking his wounds (which were ripped open in 1962 when he lost the CA governor’s race), he helped many Republicans win for Congress and at the state level. They owed him for 1968, and that WAS his time.

Please, Senator Cruz, exit gracefully and get something for yourself in the process - and let’s go to battle against Hillary and the Dems. You have PLENTY of time left, and you will have other opportunities to run for POTUS. Some things are not meant to be...yet. So give “yet” a chance.

“Marco Rubio was on local radio in Florida today, saying TRUMP was much better than HITLERY.”

Ah, somebody is signalling but good that his votes are up for grabs, that he wants to make a deal. This is going to be interesting - but I really hope that the nomination battle is over soon so that we can start battling the Dems.

The actual Delegate Count, in a full breakdown

Ted Cruz has offices in 10 more States/Territories than Donald Trump does. Ted Cruz tends to have 5 times more staff dedicated to an office from the start. Donald Trump has been closing offices and moving staff around to the next set of elections as well (this would have a profound effect in a general election, very bad). Ted Cruz also usually opened an office months in advance of when Trump would open an office.

Ted Cruz also has secured roughly 4 to 5 times more endorsements than Trump. Additionally his endorsements tend to be more locally empowering and nationally empowering. Comparing “Proxies”, my term for those stars who go out and actively campaign for a candidate, Ted Cruz wins at about an 9 to 1 level.

The offices, endorsements, and proxies help win the delegate war. You need to convince Convention persons, people who are activist locally, that you are both viable and in their interest. Trump has no succeeded on this local level with the activists. Trump has run a “Top Only” campaign where he is the source of votes, money, and influence. Sarah Palin for example has lost most of her effective influence and is a poor national proxy. She might be a decent local proxy except she also lost her home State to Ted Cruz. Trump over-shadows his proxies by leaps and bounds and they get very little effect because of it.

Conversely the Ted Cruz campaign gives all Proxies full authority to do their own thing on his behalf, and their effect is very strong. Ted Cruz must rely upon influencing people at the grass roots to get his votes, money, and even further influence. Add the data metrics the Ted Cruz campaign is using, the volunteer base that is conservatives and Tea Party in make up, and Ted Cruz has the most effective campaign in the known history of the World. No other candidate could win versus Trump and it shows just how good Ted Cruz is that he has effectively won against Donald Trump.

Her answer was Reagan will start a war. I was skeptical and told her I didn’t buy that. At the time I thought it didn’t matter.”

But it probably did matter - you didn’t have any success that night, did you? Better to play along, and then vote as you wish later. :>)

“If the War on Women meme was used effectively against a Romney, it’ll be used doubly so against Trump. Trump is aware of all this, BTW. The question is how he deals with it”

It is easy to deal with it. First, by showing how he actually treats women in business, second by showing how the Clinton Foundation pays women less than men, and third by saying words to the effect that “Democrats always say Republicans exploit women, are racist, love pollution, want to push Granny over the cliff, etc. None of that is true and they KNOW it, its just an effective campaign tactic - or at least it WAS, because I’m not going to lie back and take that nonsense from them.”

Yeah, he has a chance. Better than Cruz by my estimation, but I’ll crawl over broken glass to vote for anyone opposed to Hillary.

I don’t think you’re going to find anyone here who didn’t enjoy Trump shutting down her “War on Women” tactic.

In the general, however, she doesn’t have to do it. Plenty of PACS have plenty of material on Trump, also. Especially when it comes to his statements he’s made on women. Will it work? Time will tell

And that, is just my own $0.02. ;)
