You guys don't grasp the simple fact that political Parties don't want convention fights!

So, Cruz is never going to get to the second round of the convention.

Trump would cut a deal with Kasich or Rubio before that happens.

There will be no contested convention.

Even the Establishment won't allow it.

You guys don't get it that Cruz is being used to get some leverage on Trump.

When Trump cuts a deal, Cruz is left with nothing.

Cruz should try winning some votes he would get the same thing.

The Establishment is just using Kasich and Cruz to get some leverage on Trump.

Get him to pick one their guys as a VP, like Reagan did with Bush.

No way the GOP allows a convention battle, so Cruz is in dream land.

Lying Ted’s hypocrisy is what forced many of us supporters to flee from him in droves.

I have never seen a bigger hypocrite in the GOP then Ted Cruz.

You are right. The door is closing rapidly for Cruz to get a deal. Last night Laura Ingraham said she thinks if this has to go to convention, Cruz ends up with a stiletto in his back from establishment.

In addition, whether you like him or not, by now everyone should know that Trump is a Rottweiler. If he gets a man down, he doesn't relent.

Look what he did to Jeb Bush. To Marco Rubio. He killed them, humiliated them. Not just in this race, but pretty much politically for all time... or at least a very long time. He took the legacy of the GWB Presidency and reduced it to rubble in one explosive debate exchange.

I'm not a fan of Ted Cruz, but I'd really hate to see that happen to him, out or respect for my fellow Freepers.

He should cut a deal, preserve his dignity and his future. Because if he doesn't, Donald Trump will destroy him.

“As long as Cruz waives the Bible before he lies, that’s all that
matters to his supporters.”

According to sCruz: “If I can find a way to cheat, I’ll win. In Jesus’ name, Amen!”

see I am 180 degrees to this position. I have a vile hatred for anyone who pulls the stunts Cruz has pulled in a "win at all costs" game. The stuff with the shaming mailers and the Chicago Trump rally B.S. has me to a point that even if Ronnie Reagan crawled out of his grave and begged me to vote for Teddy I still could not do it.

In fact my position on dealing with Ted is much akin to Conan's philosophy on "What is best in life?"

The legacy of the Bush tenure was a pile of rubble which he created all by himself and ushered in Obama. Trump had nothing to do w/it.

“Texans will remember their sitting Senator omitted any mention of his being Canadian in 2012.”

Actually, Cruz’ opponent will constantly remind the voters of Texas of that fact!
Just hope it’s in the primary and not the general, because Ted’s “carreer in politics” will be ended by another Republican, or a RAT.

“During this election season we have seen the perception of Cruz’s trustworthiness drop to levels worse than Hillary’s. It is sad. “

True, but he has only himself to blame. He decided to roll the dice with the GOPe and in so doing gave away every ounce of good will he had with those who thought he was who he said he was inititally.

Ah. I'm not that rabid in my dislike of the man. I won't vote for him, for sure. But I also have many fellow Freepers who would. I'd hate for that to happen to him.

Now, as for his reported mistress, Amanda Carpenter... no misfortune is too extreme.

OK. Point taken. But you have to admit it was wild to see the Republican front runner stand on a debate stage in South Carolina and say what Trump said to Jeb Bush about W's War in Iraq, even hinting that Bush was lying about WMD, and he knew he was lying.

The man has absolutely NO fear. It was the moment my resolve to vote for him hardened. It's when I knew for sure that this wasn't a novelty candidacy.

It was a brutal, and brilliant, moment.

Funny, that was the moment I decided Trump was too stupid to ever vote for.

And it wasn’t a hint. He flat out claimed it was a lie. Then lied and denied it a day or two later on O’Reilly.

Trumps delegates are not going to leave him. If we do, we will have to find another way home. So if Kasich or Cruz want to win over Trump’s delegates, they had better be prepared to buy a whole lot of plane tickets, likely at full fare.

I think Mitt Romney wants to be this generation’s Harold Stassen. Cruz will have to wait for the next generation, he is young enough.
