(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."
"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.
"That is correct," Trump said.
Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.
"Leave it the way it is," he said.
"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.
"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."

Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."
Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.
"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."

Actually, there is, but a lying propaganda machine, led by Trump and his media hacks, have led the sheeple into viewing him poorly just for Trump's political gain.
There is a man who stood with Pamela Geller when Terrorists tried to kill her.......Trump sided with the "can't defame Islam" group.
There is a man who stood with the clerk who wouldn't sign gay marriage licenses because of her religious convictions.........Trump threw her under the bus and said she should just obey the law.
There is a man who said Planned Parenthood would be investigated as soon as he got into office for selling baby parts......Trump said Planned Parenthood does "good things".
There is a man who understands that "The idea that grown men would be allowed alone in a bathroom with little girls - you don't need to be a behavior psychologist to realize that bad things can happen, and any prudent person wouldn't allow that."....while Trump's recent comment seems to imply he is okay with that.
There is a man who has been fighting against the Socialist/Pervert machine, day in and day out, but I'm not sure if I can actually mention his name anymore since it's been suggested that everyone on FR has to get behind the "social" liberal Trump to promote "unity" in the battle against the other social liberals Sanders/Clinton...even though Trump has not won the 1237 delegates required to get the nomination yet.
He sounds like he leans more to the left than I first thought. In addition to the bathroom answer, he wants to raise taxes on the rich, and also give a path of citizenship to the illegals that are here already, after they go back of course(sure), then they can come back legally.
Yep.... went to countless political dinners and events. Gave millions of dollars over his lifetime to politicans on both sides of the isle. He’s an outsider.... oh yeah... and a conservative.....and a constitutionalist .... and the savior of our America.... no doubt.....
I don't think so but after the non-help he got from the so called pro life GOP - if true - I don't blame Trump.
I wonder how many of the items listed by JimRob in his excellent post about Trump's plan to "Make America Great Again" will be jettisoned by November ?

Congress can pass laws later. Right now this is a battle that risks losing a much larger more critical battle. Where is your sense of strategy? Are you so easily distracted?

Why, good morning, hostage, good to see you here! I have some more magnamity for you: Trump and family have never been inside a public restroom and really don’t see what the fuss is all about, so of course they’ll have ‘fun’ opinions on it!
So it begins- cozying up to GOPe, stating his very liberal beliefs and referring to Bruce Jenner as “she.” Teleprompter on the way. No surprise to me.
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this before on this thread, but Trump really got into a lot of trouble over the transgender issue a few years ago, and I would imagine he’s trying not to have that happen to him again. He attempted to bar a beauty pageant winner, who had been born a male but went through all the surgeries to appear female, from participating in his Miss Universe contest. Feminist lawyer, Gloria Allred, sued him over it, and Trump eventually went ahead and allowed the “woman” to participate in the face of a lot of negative publicity and some insults from Allred (OK, he was attacking her too).
I hope Trump re-evaluates this after learning more about the issue. His earlier Miss Universe experience indicates that he doesn’t really believe that a “trans woman” is an actual woman, so I hope he finds out more about the potential problems behind this issue. He seems to be looking at this in terms of dollars and cents (i.e. what’s best for business), rather than what problems it might cause for the actual men and women and girls and boys using those restrooms. On the other hand, his stance is in fact the smaller, less intrusive government position, and I would agree with the idea that this law would be a very hard law to enforce—some women are a bit masculine looking, but we can’t be doing genital tests for anyone somewhat questionable trying to enter the lady’s room. However, state laws aren’t the president’s concern anyway. He should have stayed out of it.
