Trump: Transgenders Should 'Use the Bathroom That They Feel Is Appropriate'
CNS News ^ | April 21, 2016 | Susan Jones

Republican Donald Trump says he'd be fine with Caitlyn Jenner using the bathroom of her choice at Trump Tower. (AP File Photo)

(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."

"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.

"That is correct," Trump said.

Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.

"Leave it the way it is," he said.

"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.

"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."

AD FEEDBACK

Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."

Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.

"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."

A review of both these men in total would reveal that if one is ‘psychotic’ as you say, it would NOT be Ted Cruz. Don’t be ridiculous. Trump actually calls Cruz a ‘liar’ for quoting things that Donald himself has said. Now, that IS psychotic.

True, courts have called the conventional biased or bigoted.

That's what happens when a country of lazy people don't make their presence felt in politics.

A great example would be Arnold as Gov. in California. He was going to blow up boxes of business being done as usual.
So he attaches himself to some good initiatives before the voters and not enough turn out to even pass parental notification of parents if their child gets an abortion.

So after no support Arnold gets blamed for just getting along instead of just being a political pinata.

People with problems with this issue and our country need to look no further than their mirror for the reason we have these problems.

Absentee citizens should get active or shut the hell up.
That is a general statement not directed at you in particular but to all in general.

We are responsible for ourselves and guess what, we are responsible for the way we let things transpire for decades.

Interesting comments.

I haven’t run into unisex restrooms yet.

It had been my thought that the women’s restroom was a respit for them, having no men around while they took care of themselves or their children.

It does bother me that this aspect seems to have evaporated over night.

Yeah and he said to tell you “Bite Me”.

Try reading through Eric Levitz’ BS spin and see where Trump really stands. He stands for states rights. Blasio and Cuomo have already made it NY policy to let queers roam free in NY. Trump doesn’t need to fight that battle.

It’s a states right issue and has nothing to do with federal government.

Apparently , a lawyer /sex offender pushed for the original law.

The state legislature then superseded this law.

So what does ‘leave it as it is mean’ ??

They have them here in NYC.

Constant complaints from women that they are dirty.

Wonder why?

The choice has become much clearer. Unfortunately it has come a little late in the game. If LGBTrump had come out for men being allowed to go into women's bathrooms and girls lockers before South Carolina, he would have been forced out of the race along with Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina.

The true LGBTrump will be coming out soon. He has been giving hints as to who he really is, but unfortunately too many people can't read between the lines.

Ted Cruz has a screw loose. He blames everything bad that happens in the world on Trump.

He blamed the Chicago hardcore left on Trump.

He blamed the Brussels terror attack on Trump.

He’s turned out to be the biggest ass that ever ran for President.

Two words are all that anyone needs to know about Cruz: “Neil Bush”. Case Closed.

He’s going to do a lot more than those top four also.

Trump will be like any other medicine. There will be side effects.

Those that think there wouldn’t be with others sure forget the last Republican J/A we had in there.

It’s the “BT” part of “LGBT” we’re talking about here. If we’re talking 1-2% “LG” in society, we’re probably talking 0.1 to 0.2% “BT” in our society.

No wonder you don’t run into them.

When I worked at a very large famous corporation there was one transsexual. She was tall, had big hands and deep voice. Dressed to the 9’s every day. Scary looking thing really.

I haven’t talked to one blue collar dem who agrees with this crap about letting men who are attracted to women in the women’s bathroom. The ones I have talked to were from New jersey. I can’t believe he didn’t take the Muslim immigration route here. Inexplicable.

It is an illusion created by the Media and Hollywood. The ordinary rank and file population think it's nuts, but they have been conditioned by entertainment propaganda and the glitterati (famous people) into believing it is perfectly reasonable to allow mentally ill males into women's bathrooms if the mentally ill males express the delusion that they are female.

There used to be a time when the entertainment people were afraid of the public. Now they have nothing but contempt for them.

"C'mon. I thought he gave an honest answer."

Yes he did and I believe it to be the wrong answer. Really? We've come to the point where men and women can't have different bathrooms?

"He's not dwelling on the social wars. I'm sure they'll be designated to others. And you know what? With the inspiration of a classy family in the WH, with high cultural and education standards, it might be what begins to turn our warped excuse for a civilization turned around."

You may be right about a better class of people in the WH, but anyone who aspires to the presidency has to deal with both domestic and international issues. That was a bad example of his domestic views.

"Shouldn't we be sick of being played?"

Yes. He's been playing everyone since he first showed up. Do you not know about his proven liberal leanings? Probably not, since most Trumpsters enjoy his plain language rhetoric that has no substance. Maybe you have forgotten another populist who had the same approach. His name was Perot and handed the WH to Billy (the womanizer and sell out to China) Clinton. Have a good day.

Has there been a retraction or revision as of yet? If not, he is what we thought he was.

He may try to backpedal a bit, but he is still going to side with the liberals on these social issues, every single time. He is surrounded by people in New York who think this way, and to him it is normal to go along with the flow of the culture he is familiar with.

Well you’ve got The Trifecta as Rush called it today of abortion, trannys in restrooms with our women and taxes.

The first two you’ve covered.

How about what he said on taxes? That’s about as anti-FR as you can get.

None of this surprises me with Trump. What surprises me is that other people are surprised. Why would anyone be surprised that a guy from New York and who has been a liberal Democrat all his life, would suddenly embrace conservatism?

Why is anyone surprised?

I really think you have it wrong about Trump. He's got a vision of the US, based on what those of us in his age group were raised to expect for the potential of our nation. He wants to turn things around, the big picture, on a national scale. He's identified the problems, now he wants to solve them....that's what problem solvers do. Why do I believe that? His ego and love of family won't allow him to accomplish anything less.

Perhaps Ted Cruz, since he's so quick to criticize, could be put in charge of bringing some sanity to these issues. On a less sarcastic note, keep in mind that folks of Cruz's generation aren't old enough to have experienced what Trump wants to restore. There will never be another Donald Trump with the skill set, cultural memory, and passion to get things back on course.

I’m giving him time to walk it back.

And what if he doesn't. What if he doubles down? How much time will you give him, and what kind of apology will you accept?

IMHO we are seeing the real Donald LGBTrump now. He's been hiding the ball, but once he knows its game over, then he will remove his sheep's clothing. He has no moral principles. It will show. His conservative veneer is coming off.

I agree but why now? It’s not like the New York win was a big tide turning accomplishment. Not really time for this yet. Unless his new handlers have told him it is.
