Republican Donald Trump says he'd be fine with Caitlyn Jenner using the bathroom of her choice at Trump Tower. (AP File Photo)
(CNSNews.com) - Republican Donald Trump, appearing on Thursday's "Today" show, said transgenders should be allowed to "use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate."
"So if Caitlyn Jenner were to walk into Trump Tower and want to use the bathroom, you would be fine with her using any bathroom she chooses?" host Matt Lauer asked Trump.
"That is correct," Trump said.
Asked for his view on the North Carolina bathroom controversy, Trump said the state has "paid a big price" for requiring transgenders to use the restroom that corresponds with their biological sex.
"Leave it the way it is," he said.
"One of the best answers I heard was from a commentator yesterday, saying 'Leave it the way it is right now.' There have been very few problems. Leave it the way it is. North Carolina, what they're going through with all of the business that's leaving and all of the strife, and that's on both sides -- you leave it the way it is.
"There have been very few complaints the way it is. People go, they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble. And the problem with what happened in North Carolina is the strife, and the -- the economic punishment that they're taking."
AD FEEDBACK
Trump said he doesn't know if he has any transgender people working for him. "I probably do, I really don't know."
Trump noted that there's a "big move to create new bathrooms" for transgenders.
"First of all, I think that would be discriminatory in a certain way. It would be unbelievably expensive for businesses and for the country. Leave it the way it is."
You’re a liar.
That is a phrase I don't think he has ever uttered. Even to God.
But I think after this latest revelation below, I think I might be able to say "I was right"
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (AP) Donald Trump's chief lieutenants told skeptical Republican leaders Thursday that the GOP front-runner has been "projecting an image" so far in the 2016 primary season and "the part that he's been playing is now evolving" in a way that will improve his standing among general election voters. The message, delivered behind closed doors in a private briefing, is part of the campaign's intensifying effort to convince party leaders Trump will moderate his tone in the coming months to help deliver big electoral gains this fall, despite his contentious ways.
Jackass in Elephant's clothing.
Trump has won. It’s over.
An “I was wrong” will probably only matter with me.
Prove it.
IMHO, what Trump doesn't get is that whether he agrees with it or not it's a matter that should be left up to the state and citizens of NC to decide for themselves.
If you've been paying any attention at all, you have to know this is not going to stop at bathrooms.
Would you have voted for him if you had known all the things that came out today:
1) A man should be allowed to use whatever bathroom he wants
2) The wealthy should pay more taxes
3) The abortion plank of the GOP should be moderated
4) He's just been playing a part and the real Donald LGBTrump will be entering part II where he exposes himself as Romney with bad hair.
It ain't over till the fat lady sings.
I’m not ruling out a Kasich Write-In Campaign ala Lisa Murkowski.
Everyone knows what he meant by leaving the law alone. He spoke of how the new state law was so troublesome and said the law should have been left as is. Which would allow Charlotte to force transgender acceptance in the restroom of their choice.
Only number 1. I already knew the other 2. I heard him say the same thing about taxes a year ago. Anyone who watched his congressional testimony ones ghe other.
But #1 without retraction would have been a game changer. It’s contrary to nature and nature’s God
I heard her singing
I just heard him walk it back just minutes ago on Hannity. He said it is a matter for states, that the federal government should not be involved.
I think it’s a matter for the people and not the states or the fed. They should put an issue on the ballot and make the decision over the heads of the government.
#910. Knows the other
Then why was he out there criticizing North Carolina and then following it up with the statement that people ought to be able to choose which bathroom they want to use?
Up until this year, did anyone ever suggest that men should be allowed to use women's restrooms if that is what they choose to do?
xzins, LGBTrump is a phony baloney New York Democrat in GOP clothing.
He pulled the wool over everyone's eyes. Even long time Freepers who should have known better.
xzins in a sane society, this would not be an issue at all.
We are in an insane society.
I agree the nation is insane.
Everyone needs to answer to themselves whether men should be in restrooms with little girls. That is insane.
I am not a state’s rights conservative if someone thinks a state can force insanity down people’s throats. At least if the people force it I’ll know Almighty God is looking down on Sodom.
“At least if the people force it Ill know Almighty God is looking down on Sodom.”
They never try anything at a time that will motivate enough folks to rebel. That’s why this isn’t happening in 1965. They don’t seem to really mess up with their timing.
I think it’s a given that any state couldn’t re-pass their marriage amendments by an equal or greater % of votes than it originally did, right? Every state that passed one would pass it by less now, and in some cases a lot less. This thing is only heading in one direction.
Freegards
The law as it stands RIGHT NOW in NC is that men are not allowed to enter women’s restrooms.
Now if Trump is saying leave that as it is, then you have no argument.
If he is saying leave what was before in place, then he saying that prior state laws should be left in place that gave no protections to LGBTQ perverts. Again, you have no argument.
Trump is eyeing California on June 7 which is what will win him the nomination. The Bay Area is crawling with political correctness maggots not only among the voters but among the voting officials. For them to hear him side with the North Carolina Governor would likely cause him to lose enough delegates to put his nomination in jeopardy. There are too many other issues that override this one to consider.
Suppose the perfect conservative president is elected, this issue will not be resolved. This issue is emerging as the next item of civil rights-social justice-cultural marxism and no president, even a perfect one will stop the Supreme Court from wreaking havoc on the moral sensitivities of Americans.
What has to happen is the ultimate fallback position. An assembly of states that meets for the purpose of proposing and ratifying amendments to the US Constitution according to Article V. Nothing else but this pathway will resolve these issues, nothing.
Trump is going to have to tow the states rights line because there is no recourse. He’s not going to be signing any law affording perverts to play with American traditions because there won’t be any such law even if democrats take back Congress. It’s all going to be through the courts and there’s nothing he can do in that regard.
You might say well...he will be appointing justices to the Supreme Court. There is absolutely no lock on anyone doing the right thing in that arena, absolutely none.
Ronald Reagan appointed Anthony Kennedy who gave us normalization of perversion which has led to relentless persecution and prosecution of Christians.
G.W. Bush appointed John Roberts who gave us a tax on healthcare that will usher in socialism.
Ted Cruz in his 2005 National Review op-ed stated:
“At the outset, Judge Roberts is brilliant. A summa cum laude Harvard graduate”
Judge Roberts is a lawyers lawyer. And that matters immensely, especially for the U.S. Supreme Court.
Cruz concludes the op-ed writing:
The Senate should confirm him swiftly.
http://www.nationalreview.com/article/214989/right-stuff-ted-cruz
The promotion and exaltation of Roberts by Cruz should indicate even to the slowest of the slow that Cruz is no savior to conservatives.
And now we have Donald Trump and his view of who should be seated on the Supreme Court, and noting his public statement that Clarence Thomas is his favorite Supreme Court Justice, I will say he is no savior as well, why? Let’s review:
After a warm, respectful but non-serious mention of his pro-abortion sister, he entered a consulting agreement with the Heritage Foundation to choose justices from their list and only their list while publicly making the promise that he would never appoint a liberal justice. Sounds great yeah? Let’s continue:
He then mentioned two justices he would strongly consider for the Supreme Court, Judge William Pryor and Judge Diane Sykes, both of whom give the left a hard case of constipation.
For example, Judge Pryor is described as:
“Judge William Pryor was what is euphemistically referred to as a controversial nominee when President George W. Bush announced his nomination to the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. His opponents pointed to statements Pryor made as Alabama Attorney General labeling Roe v. Wade and the Supreme Courts landmark criminal justice decision in Miranda v. Arizona as the worst examples of judicial activism. Pryor also described Roe as creating a constitutional right to murder an unborn child. Senate Democrats initially filibustered Pryors nomination, but they eventually capitulated to a Republican threat to eliminate the filibuster unless Pryor was confirmed.”
And the background of Judge Diane Sykes is even worse as it further gives the left an aftereffect of neverending diarrhea.
So it looks like Donald Trump is going to save America from its flush down the drain from Justices of perversion and continuous social injustice by choosing reliable pillars of conservative justice. Not so fast.
There are many great rulings and positions of Judges Pryor and Sykes but there is one little blurb about Justice Pryor that shows just how precarious it can be to choose a conservative justice. Here it is:
“He joined a 2011 opinion holding that a government agent violates the Equal Protection Clauses prohibition of sex-based discrimination when he or she fires a transgender or transsexual employee because of his or her gender non-conformity.
So there it is. Judge Pryor is an ultra-Orthodox conservative judge with an apparent flaw.
What does this tell us? It tells us there is no savior among politicians. Even among smart businessmen-turned-politicians.
Why would we want Cruz? Because he’s a principled conservative? He’s a fraud. Two words only are needed: “Neil Bush”.
Is Cruz going to save us from LGBTQ? Hell No!
Why would we want Donald Trump? Here you go:

I do. There is collusion between the media and with establishment types (both parties).
