Gov. Charlie Baker, under pressure to take a position on the Legislature's transgender rights bill, "believes people should use the restroom facility they feel comfortable using," his office said yesterday, offering the governor's strongest statements on the issue so far.
Baker was responding to remarks by GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, who objected to a controversial North Carolina law, saying at an NBC Today Show town hall event, that North Carolina should "leave it the way it is right now" and let people use the bathroom they prefer. The new law in North Carolina requires transgender people to use bathrooms that correspond to their gender at birth in public buildings.
Baker has already voiced opposition to the North Carolina law.
"Governor Baker is pleased Massachusetts public schools adhere to policies that accommodate transgender students' needs and believes employers should also accommodate transgender individuals' needs. The governor supports 2011 transgender protections and believes no one should be discriminated against based on their gender identity, and looks forward to reviewing a bill should the legislature act. Lastly, Governor Baker believes people should use the restroom facility they feel comfortable using," spokeswoman Lizzy Guyton said in a statement.

“But then being totally surprised when things truly start to spiral out of control.”
But to someone from 1960 we would probably seem to have spiraled way far out of control already. And someone from 1910 would probably think 1960 was complete madness that had obviously gone round the bend.

No question. But the “spiral out of control” I was referring to is the beginning of the actual death-spiral. Anyone with a true sense of historical perspective already knows and can see that we’re going down. Most people flow along like a log in a river, acclimitizing to the increasing rot and decay, convincing themselves everything’s normal and natural, altering their perspectives. There will eventually be a point where the rapidity of the river flow starts taking too large a mental toll.
I don’t know. I would hazard that the enemy would never let it come to something like that where there could potentially be a reset due to complete non-functionality. Why take the risk? Just a long gradual buzzing null-state. They never seem to pull anything at a time when enough good folks would actually really fight about it happening at the time.

By allowing transgender males to use womens restrooms and locker rooms, you have denied a womans right to privacy. But no one is talking about that. I would expect women nationwide to be up in arms over their loss of a fundamental right.
