[April 14, 2016] Exclusive — Trump California Political Director: ‘We Have Already Outmatched’ Cruz

Tim Clark, hand-picked by Republican frontrunner Donald Trump this week to be his new California political director, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview Wednesday evening that the Trump campaign has "already outmatched" Sen. Ted Cruz in the Golden State.

"I've only been on the job for the past 24 hours," Clark said, "but it is a large, grassroots, unstoppable, momentous movement that is elevating Donald Trump in the state."

On Monday, Cruz's own California political director, former state GOP chair Mike Schroeder, speculated that the Trump campaign would fail to find enough delegates to fill three slots in each of the state's 53 congressional districts by the May 8 deadline.

Clark told Breitbart News that the Trump campaign would easily meet that deadline.

"We've got a list of about a thousand people who would love to be delegates for Donald Trump," he said, noting that the campaign was "vetting these names very carefully."

He added: "Based on what I know of what's happening in California, the organic Trump for President movement has already outmatched the organized, paid Cruz for President effort, and I feel very strongly we're going to be able to leverage the Trump for President volunteers into even greater activities, so I'm not worried about it."

Clark called the Trump campaign in California "a large, grassroots, unstoppable, momentous movement that is elevating Donald Trump in the state."

When asked which districts the campaign would be targeting, Clark said the campaign considered every one of them to be competitive: "We've got 53 districts that are in play. We have the task of building 53 different campaign plans for each of those districts-which we're doing. And we intend to contest every single one of those ... we believe we can win all 53 and take home 172 delegates."

We’ll have to have a Trump party on a thread that day in celebration. You Cruzites can have your own sore Cruzerman party on your very own thread on June 8th, lol, as any champagne you would have hoped for will have fizzled, just like Cruz himself.

I'll bring the Jack Single Barrel to the Trump party and provide the cheese wedges to the other.

Conservatives in CA know liberal Trump will be just more BAU for them. They need harsh pruning and uprooting of their own uniparty, and Trump ain’t the guy.

Notice how you never see Joe Isuzu and Ted Cruz in the same room at the same time?

Just sayin’.

Speak for yourself, every conservative I know in CA is voting for Trump and all the liberals I know hate him. He's not a Liberal.

Thanks sweet Jane. I am so relieved this Cruz “fix” business is getting out there. Thought it would never come out. Whoo. (mops forehead) It was close, but sounds like we’re swinging back, finally.

I dunno, Red.

These delegate rubes for Cruz are pretty big talkers in a mob, but when 72% of Republicans are against this steal thing going on, and are instead for the leader who has the most popular votes and the most delegates coming into convention, then those Cruz delegates can go wobbly on Cruz, once they see there names published in their local paper, as delegates.

The secret is Cruz really doesn't have that many delegates. Most are GOPe delegates who just said they were for Cruz at the time.

If it were not for TRUMP raising hell over it, willing to endure the “whining” accusations for weeks, it might not have been able to resonate. Most candidates are too STUPID to shine a light on the system and never break through if they try. The media and the party system shut them up.

TRUMP doesn’t give a rip what they call him, he’s going to play cards under his own House rules. I love that about him.

Now the media has picked up on it and let the chips fall where they may.

Cruz is toast. Agree with YOU! :)

Looks like the new guy has a whole lot of “believing” going on. Mostly hoping Trump is believing him.

Not saying it can not happen, just that under most circumstances, historically a campaign finding it necessary to make so many dramatic changes this late in the game usually does not work out well.

Speaking of a Trump party, remember the Anti-townhall that Trump put on using the Disabled Vets as a stage prop? Just when will those now long forgotten Veteran Orgs be getting those millions Trump was “holding” for them?

Crazy Ron Paul was on some program, the other day confirming what Trump has said - that the system is rigged.

He admitted that he (Paul) could do nothing to expose the corrupted primary/delegate system, when he was running, because he (paraphrasing) didn’t have the very public microphone that Trump has....and, that the public wouldn’t have believed his word against the GOP’s.

Trump has exposed so much of the lying, corrupt cesspool. Thank you, Lord!!

>I call them like I see them.

Well, relax a bit, please. I’m also quite irritated at the Cruz team’s approach here (see my posts if you care), but I try and avoid calling fellow FRiends, names. (Glenn Beck is fair game, heh).

I’ve voiced my opinion about Cruz claiming to be anti-establishment while BusoCo subsumes his campaign and acts to subvert the delegates the people chose. I’ve called out how this is, at best, doublespeak; but as far as I know, the usual Cruz posters aren’t themselves taking these actions, so I write against the Cruz campaign, not the FReepers, even if they’ve been posting Cruz’s actions here or cheering them on.

In a scorched-earth sense this subversion was Cruz’s best bet, but IMO he would’ve been better served waiting 4 or 8 years after realizing he was not the guy after the FL primary. Now, the people have rejected that play, thank God.

We do, after all, have a Hillary (ARF!) to beat in November.

Yep, that’s exactly why he is getting 38% of votes.

I get your point, but the particular poster in question here has hardly been a saint in such matters. I’m not exactly calling Mother Theresa names here.
