I agree with your post, but for one thing.
These recent crazed statements are telling me that Cruz is trying to fake being a conservative.
I could be wrong, but the more he talks, the more he sounds like a parody.
I don’t know if Cruz’s conservatism is fake or real - I don’t know what is in his heart. I will agree there’s something fishy there, the way his eyes shift back and forth.
I do not get inspired by his words, I do not get chills like I did when Ronald Reagan spoke, even though he is often saying the right things. Too often, it seems like he is more focused on demonizing Trump than on championing the causes of conservatism.
He reminds me of a tattle-tale in grade school, trying to score points with the teacher by ratting out a classmate.
