Donald Trump: 'If I lose, I don’t think you will ever see me again'

Don’t expect to see Donald Trump give a humble concession speech if he loses the Republican presidential nomination. During a Sunday rally in Maryland, the Republican presidential frontrunner mocked candidates who praise their opponents during concession speeches, saying that if he loses the contest, Americans will probably not hear much from him again. “They fight like hell for six months, and they’re saying horrible things, the worst things you can imagine,” Trump said. “And then one of them loses, one of them wins. And the one who loses says, ‘I just want to congratulate my opponent. He is a brilliant man, he’ll be a great governor or president or whatever.’” He continued: “I’m not sure you’re ever going to see me there. I don’t think I’m going to lose, but if I do, I don’t think you’re ever going to see me again, folks. I think I’ll go to Turnberry and play golf or something.” Trump’s mockery wasn’t relegated just to the electoral losers. He also said Sunday that the winners were too modest. “Half the times [the winners] put them in the administration — that’s how they get rid of them,” Trump said of the losing candidates. This line of thought has not stopped Trump from graciously accepting endorsements from other candidates who have dropped out of the presidential race. Trump frequently touts his support from Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson. During a news conference in February announcing Christie’s endorsement, Trump lauded Christie’s tenure as a governor and his barbs during the Republican presidential debates. “Generally speaking, I’m not big on endorsements,” Trump said, adding, “This was an endorsement that really meant a lot.”

So how does Trump reconcile talk like this with his call for party unity? He's saying that Rubio and Kasich and Cruz should basically go away when they lose because that's what he would do. And I assume they should take all their supporters with them.

Most corporations in general, and NBC in particular, are not in it for the money.

NBC will never let him back. Not if it was that and going under.

The usual approach to party politics has been the presumption that all the candidates agreed to a certain set of core principles, and that their competition was to see who would be the best nominee to articulate and implement whatever would be consistent with those principles. The best administration would be built with the best people, from the top down.

This time, as we are learning, is different. In 1980, GHWB lamented Reagan’s “voodoo economics” in the primaries but he didn’t attack Reagan, so when Bush 41 became Reagan’s VP choice everyone knew that they differed on economic theory but that they agreed on some basic principles. Those of us who hoped for Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz uniting the disaffected electorate, however, have no chance of that happening: Trump would not be able to explain how the nation would be better off with Trump-named “Lyin’ Ted” by his side, and Cruz would not be able to explain how the nation would be better off with against-our-principles “tax the rich, let ‘em pick their rest rooms” Trump as his boss.

I will give Trump this much about his honesty, though. If Hillary wins, he doesn’t lose, because he can hole up in Turnburry while the rest of us suffer the loss of our country, so there would be no reason for him to either congratulate Hillary or lament his loss.

Has Christie fallen off the face of the earth...?

Since Trump embarrassed him when he announced his endorsement, I haven't heard a peep from him..

While Reince is presiding over the funeral in Cleveland of a large, stinking, rotten, dead elephant, and if the highest vote-getter (Trump) is not selected as the candidate, Trump should do a mic-drop and walk out. Buh-bye.

Trump’s always a sore loser. Even when he wins. What a baby. Man up.I’m tired of the whining. Gee, feels like I’m talking to the kids.

Full disclosure: I did not endorse Trump. I endorsed Kasich.

Then in my not-so-humble opinion, you need to beat feet down the street because you are NO conservative if you endorsed Kay-Sick.

If you hurry, I'll bet Johnny boy and his GOPe lover will find a nice warm place for you:

What I don't understand is how they can't beat Trump one on one in the campaigns, so they have to try and double team him. How are they going to beat Hillary if they can't beat Trump one on one, fair and square?

Cruz Taunts Trump: “Even If You Dress Up As Hillary Clinton,” You Can’t Use Women’s Restroom”
This is from the same politician whose campaign lied to Dr. Carson’s supporters in Iowa.

This is from the same campaign that had Glenn Beck call Trump supporters Nazis and Brown shirts.

This is from the same politician who sided with Soros operatives and Black Lives Matter thugs who assaulted Trump supporters.

This is from the same politician that put out an attack on Trump’s wife.

This is from the same politician who called Trump supporters ignorant.

This is from the same politician who said he will never attack Hillary Clinton but only campaign on substance.

You left out a few:

Cruz implying Trump was soft on KKK
Cruz using the Brussels attacks as an opportunity to dump slime buckets on Trump.
Trump is mobster conntected

ETC., etc.

Cruz the man is truly repulsive and will be lucky to hold on to his Senate seat. Far, far more Texans will vote for Trump in November than have ever voted for the Cuban-Canadian-Texan Rafael “Ted” Cruz.

I live in Michigan, and have followed Kasich since he was next door.

Can you explain why you like him?

I don't know any conservative who doesn't think the guy would make a better democrat than a republican.

Honest question. Let me know the reasons if you get the time. If you'd rather FReep mail me, feel free to do so.

Thanks.

You have to keep your eye on the prize.

Correct. Part of that prize is long coattails. He (Trump) has to stump for the down-line races to make sure we get a stronger House and a STRONGER Senate (Filibuster proof) to really make a difference. All these folks who are predicting that the "Down Line" races will be lost because of Trump and WORSE that Trump will lose by double digits to Hillary are doing irreparable DAMAGE to both the Brand of Conservatism and to the GOP itself.

I'm talking specifically about Cruz and Kasich here. Those two idiots will hand the election to Hillary alone if we're all not very careful. I'm hopeful though that the general populace is more knowledgeable than that. I think Trump may do very well with women. They're smart enough to know that while they think he's an arrogant pig, he might be a good President. I don't think women vote on personal like or dislike alone. They're smart enough to vote on the economy, on immigration and on Homeland Security. I also think Trump can bring home the old Bluedog and Reagan Democrats, BIG TIME.

I’m realizing more and more the wisdom of letting the delegates decide the nominee at the convention, as the primary election season progresses.

More and more has been revealed about the stands on issues and the character of each of the candidates. There is probably a lot of voter remorse.

As the candidates revel more and more about their true stands on the issues, those delegates are having second thoughts, and deciding how they will vote if the process proceeds beyond the first ballot.

The debates did not reveal anything concerning conservative stands by candidate, because of the blustering and name calling. When issues were raised, the media made sure that the Republican candidates looked dirty.

Maybe somehow truth will win out and the propaganda war will not have achieved its purpose of causing votes to opt out or vote Dem.

Thy are hell bent on destroying the ONLY chance a republican has in this election to beat Hildabeast.

The problem with political websites like FR is that participants project their version of the world from a partisan perspective.

The comment above is a perfect example of how an emotionally driven, personal projection can completely miss the reality of a given situation.

Once again, we should always be mindful that for professional politicians, it's always about money. Both the RNC & DNC are privately held, $trillion dollar non-profit franchises, whose value dwarfs other more well known companies like Google, Apple, et al.

The GOPe could give no more of a fig about who actually wins the presidency as a regular person cares about a bug crawling across a sidewalk. It simply is not part of their equation.

Oh sure, they may act the part of a concerned citizen, they even may seem sincere, but effective lying is just a basic job requirement. It's what separates the winners from the losers.

Trump threatens their very essence, the very lively hoods they've spent entire careers cultivating and advancing. Once you understand the 'game within the game, then everything makes perfect sense.
